I make my living as a professional DJ. So, I have no tolerance for poor equipment. This is a great 5 disc cd player for a home stereo system. This is not a DJ style cd player. I own the previous model CDPCE275 - 5 disc cd changer and have never had a problem with it. This player also works great. The only con is that it does not play mp3 cd's.

Very Good CD Player
Reviewed by Assembler Programmer (Practical, Computer Professional, Tech Savvy) from Farmingdale, NY on Jan 19, 2010
Verified Buyer
BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
I bought this to replace an older unit that was having trouble playing CDs burned from my PC. This unit has no such trouble and plays home-grown and commercial CDs with equal fidelity. The controls are easy to understand and use, and it has a very stylish design. I especially like the track matrix on the LED display - it shows how many tracks are on the current CD, the track currently playing, and how many tracks are left. The only negative that I found is that there is a separate button for extending the platen and adding CDs while the unit is playing one. This "Ex-Change" button is very small and is placed just to the left of the "Disk Skip" control, so it is easy to confuse them. Why they didn't just add this functionality to the "Open/Close" switch escapes me. Other than that, this is a fine unit and should complement any basic sound system.
Best Uses: Basic Systems
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Great Sound, Doesn't Skip, Easy Controls, Attractive Design
Cons: Redundant Platen Controls

I really like the product, which I purchased for a small church to play CD's through their existing audio system. It was easy to hook up to the system, but there is one catch. The sound level they have for the mics for speaking is too loud for the music, and the decibels in the CD player cannot be turned down enough to match the mics. Therefore, we always have to adjust the sound level down when playing the CD and back up when speaking. I was a bit disappointed that the player cannot be fully programmed by the remote. The player, itself, must be used for some steps, and some of the buttons on the player are very tiny and difficult for older people to use. However, the tiny buttons, which select the discs, have a parallel on the remote for programming. It's just that one has to use both the remote and the player to program if one cannot find and read the tiny buttons on the player. The sound is very good quality -- and I am pleased with that. Would I recomment this product? For some uses, yes, but not for older people and its use is questionable in connection with amplifiers hooked to mics.

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
This CD-player would still be worthwhile at twice the price. I have only had it for about a month but it seems to be extremely reliable. The specs are very good for such an inexpensive machine. Although there are many better players on the market, this one is definitely worth the price. Plays good (especially in a small room with decent speakers.)

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
The other reviews were all true! I bought this because other reviewers swore it doesn't skip - and promptly found out that all the CDs I thought were defective worked splendidly on this inexpensive player. (Now I mourn all those I tossed out.) Even salsa dancing in front of the player doesn't make it skip. Also, it's the perfect size for the space built into my etagere and the sound quality is awesome. My only quibbles are a.) I wish it played 6 CDs instead of 5 and b.) the "skip a song" control knob is weird to get used to. . . but for the price, it's terrific. A monkey could install it. [...] I'm a new convert. I just hope it lasts!

The Sony CDPCE-375 was a great bargain [...]. In contrast with some reviews, I found it was nicely made, and very easy to use. It worked perfectly out of the box. I compared its sound with that of my Denon DCD660 single CD player, which I got several years ago (at ~3x the price of the Sony), using a Sansui Eight receiver and a pair of KLH-5 3-way speakers. With some tonally complex orchestral music, the Denon sounded just a bit more lush, but for most selections, the sound from the Sony was just fine.
