Great Price
By SargeUSMC from Beach Park, ILL. on 07/27/2009.
Best Uses: Basic Systems, Smaller Rooms
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Great Sound, Attractive Design
Describe Yourself: Musically Inclined, Practical
Cons: Skips, To soon to evaluate skip, Only had it for 3 weeks, No On Off on Remote
The fact that it has no ON/Off switch on the remote makes it a pain in the Behind to use because you have to get up and down to turn it On/Off. If that doesn't bother you then it is a good buy.

So easy to use and such a pleasure to enjoy good music again. The control (I didn't have one with my last changer) allows me to relax on the couch while I am enjoying my CD's without having to get up to change disc or volume. I am very pleased with my purchase.

[...] Easy to install. Works fine. It is replacing my previous Sony CD disc player/changer, which didn't work any more. However, before I threw it out, I tried it one more time, and it (the old one) works fine. So now I have two -- but only one tuner/amp/speaker system. I bought the new one from you as I am an ex-resident of Park Ridge, and remember you on Touhy Avenue.

I picked up this unit to replace a 300 disc changer that had always been unreliable. It is fair to say that after my experience with the 300 CD changer simple is better, much better. Setup was easy. The loading of discs and the CD players controls are simple and intuitive. The remote is of good size and has large easy to read buttons. The sound quality is great and the machine has yet to have a disc that would not play. Overall I am pleased with this purchase.
Very Impressed
By Tazzmann from Humboldt, IA on 01/5/2008.
:
I know just enough electroniclly to get into trouble. This player kept me out of it. This player replaced an older Fischer unit and sounds great. The controls are different, so it will take some getting used to. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a basic player. ABT was GREAT [...]!!! A++ in my book.
works fine
By DOIN THE THING from AURORA, IL on 12/19/2007.
Best Uses: Audiophiles
Pros: Easy To Set Up

WORKS FINE FOR AN INEXPENSIVE SYSTEM. THE CD PLAYER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SOUND. THE SPEAKERS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF A SYSTEM.

very good
By D.T. from Thomasville, GA on 06/21/2007.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Doesn't Skip
Describe Yourself: Musically Inclined, Practical
I really like the product, which I purchased for a small church to play CD's through their existing audio system. It was easy to hook up to the system, but there is one catch. The sound level they have for the mics for speaking is too loud for the music, and the decibels in the CD player cannot be turned down enough to match the mics. Therefore, we always have to adjust the sound level down when playing the CD and back up when speaking. I was a bit disappointed that the player cannot be fully programmed by the remote. The player, itself, must be used for some steps, and some of the buttons on the player are very tiny and difficult for older people to use. However, the tiny buttons, which select the discs, have a parallel on the remote for programming. It's just that one has to use both the remote and the player to program if one cannot find and read the tiny buttons on the player. The sound is very good quality -- and I am pleased with that. Would I recomment this product? For some uses, yes, but not for older people and its use is questionable in connection with amplifiers hooked to mics.
good machine
By T.Gracken from San Antonio, TX on 06/19/2007.
Best Uses: Basic Systems, Larger Rooms, Smaller Rooms
Pros: Easy Controls, Doesn't Skip, Easy To Set Up, Attractive Design
Describe Yourself: Practical, Professional, Musically Inclined, Audiophile, Tech Savvy
This CD-player would still be worthwhile at twice the price. I have only had it for about a month but it seems to be extremely reliable. The specs are very good for such an inexpensive machine. Although there are many better players on the market, this one is definitely worth the price. Plays good (especially in a small room with decent speakers.)
Great Value for Technophobes!
By No nickname from New York, New York on 06/5/2007.
Pros: Doesn't Skip, Great Sound, Durable, Easy Controls, Easy To Set Up, Attractive Design
Describe Yourself: Practical, music fanatic, Musically Inclined, Technically Challenged
Cons: see comments
Best Uses: Smaller Rooms, Basic Systems, Larger Rooms
The other reviews were all true! I bought this because other reviewers swore it doesn't skip - and promptly found out that all the CDs I thought were defective worked splendidly on this inexpensive player. (Now I mourn all those I tossed out.) Even salsa dancing in front of the player doesn't make it skip. Also, it's the perfect size for the space built into my etagere and the sound quality is awesome. My only quibbles are a.) I wish it played 6 CDs instead of 5 and b.) the "skip a song" control knob is weird to get used to. . . but for the price, it's terrific. A monkey could install it. [...] I'm a new convert. I just hope it lasts!
Great bargain
By Mad Jack from Lexington, KY on 12/2/2006.
Pros: Great Sound, Easy To Set Up, Attractive Design, Doesn't Skip, Easy Controls
Best Uses: Larger Rooms, Basic Systems, Smaller Rooms
The Sony CDPCE-375 was a great bargain [...]. In contrast with some reviews, I found it was nicely made, and very easy to use. It worked perfectly out of the box. I compared its sound with that of my Denon DCD660 single CD player, which I got several years ago (at ~3x the price of the Sony), using a Sansui Eight receiver and a pair of KLH-5 3-way speakers. With some tonally complex orchestral music, the Denon sounded just a bit more lush, but for most selections, the sound from the Sony was just fine.
Item was well worth the purchase price
By Drink from Lake Forest, CA on 11/27/2006.
Cons: Design same as others

Looks and operates pretty much like other brands, but I picked Sony because of the brand name which equates to good quality.
