The installers were great and very professional, but having two appliances, (dishwasher and microwave oven) delivered at the same time, with two sets of directions flying at us, was a little rushed. Was not told, until I called the store, the dishwasher cycle would be long. Very good service at the act customer service with our call there.

We were replacing a 14 year old GE microwave with this unit and had been pleased with most of the features of the previous unit, with the exception of the effectiveness of the exhaust fan. The new unit is attractive and does its job pretty well. Unfortunately,GE has removed some features such as the beverage option on the controls and the touch pad is low qualtiy and already has dents on it from pressing the cooking time and options. Also, the defrosting feature is nowhere near enough time for the actual weight of the food item. Regretfully, most consumer products seem to be getting this type of redesign from manufacturers as they try to enhance profitabilty and maintain price levels.
One major improvement on this unit is that the exhaust fan does a noticeably better job drawing out cooking odors. Some reviewers complain that this unit is louder than older units but I believe that it has a different type of sound to the fan. It is in my opinion less annoying than older units but others in my house strongly dislike the new motor sound. In the end, less cooking smells trump a different fan sound!

We have had multiple versions of this microwave at this and prior homes. The tray is larger, which is nice. Controls are similar with a few variations. I use auto defrost more because it is more accurate-even tells you to turn food over. The only thing we don't like is the mottled gray interior. As we bought online, we did not see this before we got the microwave. We like the old white interior better.
