Not only does this refrigerator look great, but the room and the design are super! We owned a Samsung for about 3 months and turned it in because of problems and space, though it was supposed to be the same cubic foot. I am so happy with my new Whirlpool that it isn't funny! What a wonderful Christmas gift for me AND for the family!!!

I went to the store ready to get a Samsung but when I saw this one I love it but in less than a month start beeping, the doors were close but it did not detected and was beeping every minute, they came to check order parts fix that and then no water, the host got frozen, the repair guy came again and have to order a new door, they change it but in a few days after that stop making ice, they came back 3 more times....nothing to do everything happen in about 4 months since we got this refrigerator, that's really bad because it is really nice, great desing, super great capacity and save energy. I went back to the store and get the Samsung.

Problems existed from day one but two years later and the appliance is almost unusable. Let us start with the design flaws. The shelves are not well spaced out and the adjustments are too extreme. The cooling unit makes it to where if you have anything on the top shelf, it is either impeding the air or freezing. The drawers only pull out half way.The problems started with the filter that caused the water not to run, a shelf shattered, the drawer fronts broke off with normal use then the refrigerator began to freeze. Troubleshooting has not worked and no matter what is fixed the water line freezes and leaks, the unit runs continuously. I assume we will have to spend money on another unit, but I am overly trepidatious because of the money thrown away on this unit and the stress and frustration it has caused.
Money Pit Very Disapointed

We bought a new house in 2014 that came with this refrigerator. We filed a claim for poor work on the door that resulted in the door being replaced (This was covered by warrantee). After having the fridge for 14 months (right after warrantee expired the waterline cracked in 2 places. The repair cost $204. Couple days later the water filter housing area broke and it looks like another $200+. So disappointed, looks like we will not buy Whirlpool ever again after this nightmare
love the width of the freezer

got a great deal, however did not know that it was discontinued!!!!!!!!!!! BUT...... I still love the item. The only thing I have found so far that is disconcerting is that there is not a "reset" button when you replace the water filter. I am having so trouble getting the red light to go out!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great space, cheap parts
Shortly after purchasing this refrigerator, 2 plastic connecting parts broke, causing the refrigerator to leak. It was a hassle to get fixed and should not have happened on such a new item. However, this refrigerator has great features, fast ice maker, good lighting, and tons of space.
A little overpriced for the hassle

I bought this fridge a tear ago for atitle over $1500 and the fan just went out costing me an additional $300. In addition the ice from the icemaker frequently doesn't make it into my glass but ends up on the floor.

I have never written a review before, but have had such problems with my refrigerator that I feel I need to warn others. I bought my unit at HHGregg in 2011 and paid over $1500. My only saving grace is that I also purchased the extended warranty (which is still a continuing battle). Within a year of purchase the doors to the drawers started falling off. I have finally given up and am down to one drawer, I finally removed them and turned the rest into shelves. Then within the second year it stopped making ice. We again accommodated by buying ice and eventually ice cube trays.... we managed, but the hatred for the refrigerator was growing.Over the summer 2014, everything in the refrigerator began to FREEZE. Frozen orange juice, onions .... even my eggs. This was the finally straw. I called the service repair center. We are now on month 3 and nothing is fixed. So many calls to the service tech, warranty center, HHGregg Corporate Headquarter and nothing is resolved after 4 service calls and multiple replacement parts. I am now told 4-6 weeks for a new freezer door. Is a new door going to stop the food in my refrigerator from freezing??? I doubt it.I may have a lemon, but would rather warn others to waste their money on another manufacturer.... this one is not worth the headache.
Best Refrigerator I have ever owned!
We have had it for nearly 2 years now. I was concerned that a side-by-side wouldn't be big enough when we have dinner parties, but it was our only option for dispensing water and ice in the door. This model has a cold storage side wide enough for a frozen pizza easily to lay flat, and the cool storage side has never disappointed me when I make dishes in advance and have to store them in the fridge before a party. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it's SLOW delivery of water and ice PLUS the fact that as soon as someone opens the fridge door, the water/ice stop dispensing. It's an annoyance for sure, but otherwise LOVE this appliance!

We hadn't had this frig but about 3 months and saw water coming from beneath unit. Called for repair and it was discovered that the ice line had a split in it from the company and you couldn't access the part that was broken. They fixed it however a complaint to the company to fix my ruined wood floor was denied. Another 6 months goes by and now the ice maker won't make ice. I'm through!! Will move this unit to our garage for an expensive extra and will buy another Brand entirely.

pros: large capacity and stable temps cons: ice/water dispenser wont work with fridge door open, drawer fronts have pulled off- chintzy design. of course not covered by warrenty. quality not as good as older whirlpools but still better than the competition
