Love the powerboil burners, they really speed up the boiling process and yet offer precise control all the way down to simmer. This may sound strange, but I also really like the continuous burner grates. makes it easy to slide pots/pans out of the way, or use it as a surface to set hot plates on, etc most of the "commercial grade" ranges do not have this. the oven is huge and heats up fast. for those of us with young kids, the burner safety cutoff function is nice. it shuts off the master gas supply so you can't accidentally light the burners or fill the house with gas. the owners manual does a poor job explaining how this feature works -- basically you press & hold the safety button for 3 seconds and then wait for 3-5 seconds for it to lock out. to resume normal operation you again press & hold for 3 seconds and then wait 3-5 seconds. the additional waiting is not described in the manual. haven't used the bottom baking drawer yet, but nice to know we have it for thankgiving dinner. one feature I would like to have is the ability to turn off the oven element but keep the convection fan running - to finish cooking food without the oven heat on. our old Viking oven did this, and I used it often. that way you're not kicking on the element during the final minutes of cooking (or if you have to extend cooking time a minute or 2, you can do so without having to reheat the element... just use the convection air etc). I guess it would be nice to have dial controls for the oven instead of push button, but no big deal. frankly I think this range is as functional as any 36" commercial grade range out there. why pay 2-3x the price for something in a residential home?

Bought this back in Dec14. I went with the dual fuel only because I had an electric with a 220 before and didn't want to have to run a new 120 outlet for an all gas stove. It actually works pretty well this way as I was able to run the gas line easily and I prefer the electric oven. Have used the 2nd oven once so far and it does work well for small items...but seems to take a while longer (10min more than main for 400) to get to temperature. As recommended, I ran the self cleaning cycle first. You need to have good ventilation because it does smell and that is expected. But, I have these streaks on my oven window that look like they are between the glass. I can't get them off. Can only see them when I have the oven light on or open the door. Seems like a QA issue maybe. Otherwise, it works fine. Stove top gas burners work well, but some of them do not adjust much when going from 3-4 and so on. Others have also reported this and seems to be as intended. So, don't expect induction level control...but all the burners beats the pants off my old electric. Cleaning the top is a pain as everything seems to show up on the stainless top. Just have to keep up with it. Lastly, I also received the back splash attachment and had to install it myself. NOT a fun project as the screws didn't align properly and when the self clean cycle runs, there is an exhaust streak that shows up on the back splash attachment now that I can't see to get clean. So, another QA design detail issue in my opinion. Overall, a better appliance than my 30yr old electric range, but could use some improvements.

Comments about GE Cafe C2S985SETSS Free Standing Stainless Steel Dual Fuel Range:
I like the stainless steel look and the fact that the control knobs are on the front. It will be easier to clean not having the knobs on the same surface as the burners.

Just installed and instructions were excellent. Everything included except the flexible gas line.

Great but be aware of a couple of things.

I have owned the GE Cafe Dual Fuel range for about 18 months. Not only does it look good, it performs very well. I love the flexibility of the 5 burners, the griddle option, and the quick boil. The oven is very spacious and the oven drawer is awesome for those few times that you need the extra oven space. Do keep in mind that the stainless steel cooktop scratches very easily especially if the cast iron grills touch the surface when you are gently cleaning the cooktop surface or you are changing out the center grill for the griddle or if a metal utensil brushes against the space in front of the burners. The second concern is that the left burner often stops flaming if turned all the way to the lowest setting. Finally the space between the counter and the slide in oven ends up being a great place for crumbs to gather and is hard to keep clean.

Almost love everything about it
Looks pretty awesome. I wipe it down after every use and so far everything just wiped right up. It's free standing so I don't like the little gaps on the sides. I have had a couple times forgot to turn a burner off after simmering, maybe because I previously had an electric range that had glowing red lights that helped remind me it was still on? Anyway that kind of scares me.
Love this range

Love the duel fuel and lower baking oven features. Only one issue thus far. Oven lights stopped working. Service is ordering a new switch for the door. Gas burners have great options for a range of cooking levels. Oven has options for traditional baking and convection. This range replaces a double wall oven and cook top that were from the early 60's so this is a real treat to cook with

I purchased this a month ago. It has met all of my expectations. Easy to keep clean, griddle is perfect for making pancakes. It looks like a built in without the expense.
Great value for a great range!

I bought this range a few years ago for a home in a different city - liked it so much I bought it again! Love the griddle burner, love that it's dual fuels (must cook with gas stove-top, but electric bakes so much better). Having the 2nd oven really helps when entertaining, or when I don't want to heat up the large one for something small. I also like that it has no backsplash - I get a clean line behind the appliance.
I made the mistake a few years ago switching from a duel fuel rage to all gas. Just purchased this unit for our new home and couldn't be any happier. The baking drawer is an added bonus.
Great Gas range, best one we ever have

Love this, now I can bake more than one items simultaneously. We can also grill cook with gas ranges. Highly recommend this product.

I love the way the stove cooks. I have a challenge with turning the oven off by accident because the controls are so sensitive on the front of the stove. I appreciate the dual heat source and the two ovens.
