I love the fact that this stove has five burners, but I am still not able to wrap my brain around the fact that there is no burner small enough to use a small saucepan! Since the burners will not stay on if the pan is not the right size...I consider this a real "con" in it's design!Unless I am missing something in the manual, I see no way around this issue and what would have otherwise been a stellar review, gets less that five stars for this reason alone!

We are enjoying our induction cooktop, but at times there is a noise when heating that is odd. And our small pots will not work since they do not cover enough surface area of the burner to activate it, which is frustrating when you buy a large set of pots only to discover you are unable to utilize one of the frequently used sizes.

Great Cook Top
from Ft. Lauderdale, FL
I purchased this unit a month ago to replace a similar unit that I broke having dropped a cast iron pot in the middle and cracking the surface. It was very easy to install and works perfectly.

Awful-Do not buy
By unhappy customer
from Doylestown, PA
I bought this cooktop as part of a complete kitchen renovation. I spent a lot of money and got all KitchenAid products. Worst mistake ever. This cooktop did not work right from the beginning. It would shut off and then lock me out, beeping every 10 seconds for anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour or more. No codes. Whirlpool insisted on fixing the problem. They knew exactly what parts I needed without ever coming to my house. This tells me they have a known problem! The repairman blew up my cooktop when he tried to fix it. All new computers in it and he fried it. Once he left I had no cooktop at all. Whirlpool still insisted on fixing it. I had people here four times and it only got worse. Whirlpool would not stand behind their product and were rude. The store I purchased it from tried to fight with Whirlpool and they didn't get anywhere either. The store was wonderful and took it back and gave me credit, Whirlpool did not. I am currently waiting for a new refrigerator which stopped working after only 14 months. Steer clear of anything made by Whirlpool!

Small pots do not work - dissappointed
By Lisa L

We bought this unit months ago, and have not been able to use any small pans. I would not buy this series of cooktops - very disappointed. I've been thru two brands of pans, and nothing smaller than 5 inches works. does anyone have a solution?
Just bought a house

I just bought a house with this cooktop. 1) I still haven't figured out how to turn it on. Do you have simple instructions without having to download the entire manual? 2) do I need to use special cookware? I have Calphalon stainless steel. But can I use my cast iron pan, etc?

Cooking made easy
By groovy girl
from Scottsdale Arizona
I installed the cooktop a out 2 months ago and was very impressed with how easty it was to work. My induction pans worked very well on it and I didn't have to buy new ones. Also , my mother lives with me and she is elderly and I was so afraid she would burn herself or leave it on for too long. This cooktop is not hot and turns off quickly when it's no longer needed . Mind of its own. Love it!!!
Unacceptable Customer Service
from Fulton, Ms
This unit worked for 2 weeks and then stopped. 2 error codes were displayed called customer service and they sent out a repairman. 2 weeks later still no reply from repairman and still no working cooktop. This makes 4 of 6 weeks in new house without a cooktop. Customer service is usless and it is impossible to speek with a manager. Would never buy Kitchenaid again period!!!!!!!

Haven't fully experimented with cooktop yet, but it meets all expectation, and more. The speed of heat up is amazing, still learning temperature settings. Also suggest buying kitchen-aid induction cookware set, as some of my old pots wouldn't work. Also bought heat plate so old cookware cook still be used, just slower response on heat up.
