Great dishwasher but needs additional anyware basket

I loved my new dishwasher until I realized the very small anyware basket was the only silverware basket. I thought it was just missing additional baskets untl the Whirlpool representative informed me that it only comes with the one. They advertise 14 place settings fit but they are only talking plates as there is no way for 14 knives, forks & spoons to fit in that little basket & actually get clean. I'm using the basket from my old machine which doesn't match but it fits everything. The dishwasher looks great, runs quite and cleans great if you don't try to jam all your silverware into that one little basket. I would have rated it higher if Whirlpool supplied another basket.

There are just two of us so we wash dishes every other day. It is very quiet.

Doesn't clean as well as the 14 year old Whirlpool we replaced (and we rinse dishes well before putting in the dishwasher, but I left just a little residue to test its cleaning). The silverware basket gets attached to the door. If you leave it attached, it is hard to put the silverware in the left side because the soap dispenser is in the way. After the cycle, the dishes were wet. Checked the troubleshooting guide; said it needs rinse agent. I had put rinse agent in the day before, but after one wash and half a bottle of rinse agent the dispenser was empty. Now I put just enough rinse agent to fill the dispenser opening (but you don't see it in space where you should see how much is left). That seems to work if you get the dishes out shortly after machine shuts off. If you wait overnight to open the door, there is so much condensation that the dishes are wet and you can feel the moisture. After leaving the door open for several hours, there is still condensation. Never had any of these issues with the old builder's model. Haven't complained to the store, because the problem when purchasing was finding a dishwasher that would fit in a 34.5" height opening.

Over all a great choice for our new home. My only concern this the revolving sprayer attached under the top rack hangs a little low. I need to lean dinnerplates for the sprayer to clear the dishes in the bottom rack.

I think I bought more than I will ever need. I am a 74 year old retiree, who doesn't entertain that much anymore. I just needed a basic dishwasher. I use the eco cycle and heat so far, and they are fine. Perhaps I will use some of the other features for holidays, etc. Thank you!

This is a great dishwasher. The door top controls bring a clean, uncluttered look in the kitchen. It gets the dishes clean and is incredibly quiet in operation. There are dishwashers that might be quieter numerically, but anything quieter wouldn't really be noticeable. A change from our last dishwasher that I really appreciate is fewer rack choices. You may think more choices is good, but it comes at the cost of little plastic clips to break and get lost, release latches that get caught on a glass being put in the dishwahser so one side of the rack falls down when you don't want it to. This one is simpler and still plenty flexible for loading. In this case a simple design in an improvement. I'll close this as I opened it - this is a great dishwasher!

This is a beautiful dishwasher both inside and out. Sleek design and I love the hidden control panel. I live alone so I've only used it a couple of times, but it did a great job--clean dishes with no residue. Very, very quiet.

Wow, extremely quiet, you can run it anytime and you don't hear it, we love that. Inside does not stain, exterior easy to wipe off with no streaks. Seems to use a lot more rinse aid than the old model. Sometimes the silverware is still wet after cycle is complete, but we do have a lot of plastic ware in top rack as we pack lunch every day.

I originally liked that all the controls were hidden, but it is hard to see the indicator lights under the countertop. Only had the dishwasher for 3 months and had to have the control panel replaced.
