      Radio to be used basically out of doors.It has a nice tone with good bass, which is a plus for music lovers. The only drawback is the selectivity at the lower end of the FM dial.It actually plays better without the antenna connected down there. It was a usefull and thoughtful birthday gift.

        I've been using this radio for several weeks now when I work outdoors, and I'm very happy with it. I like being able to pre-set stations -- my old outdoors radio didn't have that. The volume/projection is good enough that I can hear it across the garden. Good reception, too. Looks as if it's built to take rough handling. The only thing missing is bass adjustment; I listen to talk radio as well as music, and the current bass setting seems intended for rock music.

            I ordered this radio as a gift following the description on Abt's site AND Sangean's site which states there is a "rain resistant compartment and AUX in port" Unfortunately this is not the case. I called Sangean after receiving the radio and was informed that their website (and information provided to vendors) is incorrect and that no lunchbox radios are made with an AUX-in. You need to upgrade to the U3 (not sold by Abt) for that feature.
