All other systems using flush mounted volume controls suffer from a fatal flaw: when someone turns the main system on, all the rooms turn on, forcing others around the house to stop what they are doing to turn the volume down. Conversely, if everyone is enjoying background music around the house and the system is turned off to make a phone call, everyone's music is lost.

Now, when the system is first turned on, all rooms are muted. A single touch of the VCMute's control button, just the speakers in the room you are in turn on. When entertaining, an easy push and hold of the same button will turn on all of the speakers throughout the house. Finally, a single touch of the VCMute will once again re-mute the room you are in.
