Comments about GE 24" Stainless Steel Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher:
We've owned about two years and it's been a poor excuse for a dishwasher. As others have said it doesn't clean well and we routinely have to wash "clean" dishes by hand. Pathetic excuse for a dishwasher. It can look pretty and be quiet but if it cannot perform the job it was designed for it's pretty much worthless.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

3 years old and finally completely broke. It's a pretty dishwasher but has worked terribly from day 1. Don't buy it!
A quiet storm of clean...
Initally my plastic glasses were slightly foggy, but once I added a rinsing agent & detergent additive for hard water, I have been much happier. I particularly like to sleek front with hidden controls. System is very quiet, no problem watching TV less than 15 feet away. This is a simple machine with sufficient cycles & settings for my small household, but may not be adequate for a large family.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

never dries completely

this dishwasher is one of the worst i ve owned the dishes are never dried even with added heat and steam, makes a weird wining sound as well
from La Quinta, Cal
Would have liked a 'heavy duty' cycle along with the light and regular, also silverware holders could have been smaller so the items stay up instead of falling all over. Does a great job on cleaning though, and it's a nice looking dishwasher.

Does not clean well
This dishwasher looks very nice, but does a very poor job of actually washing dishes. After every load I find myself rinsing many of the plates and bowls, as well as silverware. They clean off quite easily by hand which makes me think that this washer doesn't have a very powerful rinse cycle (in fact, this replaced a 25 year old dishwasher which actually did a much better job, sadly). I now have to pre-wash every plate before putting it in, which is a real pain and kind of defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher. Some food also gets caked on the inside of the door after each load. In addition, the quality of the roll-out tray on the bottom is very cheap and poorly designed. The spacers for plates are too far apart and a cross bar blocks the bottom, so every time I roll it in, all the plates bang into each other. I have standard dinner plates, and have never seen this on another dishwasher - unfortunately it looks like GE just took the cheapest path without actually testing the design. I've only had this dishwasher installed for about 6 weeks but have serious buyers remorse.
