I have noticed that my clothes come out of the washer, with less wrinkles and not as tangled as my old washer...Also have found that the drying time is less also..meaning it extracts more water then my old one did... but what I DON'T like about it, is that it senses the load, which takes at least 10 mins. to do so, before it even starts to wash...very quiet operation, which I disagree with what another reviewer had said, they said it was the noisiest washer they ever had... it DOES make strange noises as it washes, but does the job, and does it well and very quiet..as long as you're not in a hurry for a load..as it takes almost an hour for large load with the extra rinse cylce on...Also I don;t like the fact that the lid is locked before the washer starts to fill with water, as I like to rinse out the detergent and fabric softener lids after using....If you could live with these problems.. I do recommend this washer... I Solved the problems.. I just put everything in, close the lid, start it and, walk upstairs , and come back in about an hour to throw it in the dryer...LOL

Although this machine appears to have an agitator in the middle to ensure clean clothes, do not be deceived. Unless you use the heavy setting (which results in random holes in your clothing), it doesn't remove even any surface foreign matter. I accidentally tipped over a bowl of cereal while I was getting ready to load the washer one time, and the few pieces I didn't find before I washed the clothes...were still sitting on them when the machine finished!!!Unless you HEAVILY pre-treat fresh stains, don't expect them to look anything but wetter after washing it.After just 3 months of light use the machine started shaking and flailing about when it tried to spin. After the lights went out and it stopped, I opened the lid - only to have it start up lid OPEN an hour later. This utterly voids the purpose of the safety "lid lock" feature. After I unplugged it and let it sit a day, I tried the spin/drain cycle but it wont spin at all.I never overload the washer - there's no point in even trying since then it doesn't even fully wet the clothes. By overload I mean even ever-so-lightly press down on the clothes to tuck in a pair of shorts or tee shirt.Overall, if you want wet dirty clothes, go with Maytag (which is the same manufacturer as an identical Whirlpool machine) - otherwise choose another machine.

Comments about Maytag Centennial White Top Load Washer:
I bought this washer about 2 weeks ago because my previous Maytag had seen it's last day. I had the previous one for about 17 years. I was so surprised to find a simple, affordable Maytag to buy and was even more surprised to find out how quiet it really is.

We have model #MVWC300XW0. Its a 3 year old Centennial washer. It happens to be broke right now even after replacing a lid lock switch. I have been reading threads on troubleshooting this washer and after reading threads. I realize that this washer doesn't normally make it 3 years without breaking down due to faulty electrical plugs and cheap wiring. I have read the phrase "common problem" more times than I care to admit. Buyers beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had this machine for 3 years. Just as it hit the 3rd year the spin cycle broke. I'm left w/ wet clothes and the need for a new washer. Repair costs are too expensive and don't make sense. Now I know why the maytag repair man is never busy.
So quite and so many options on this washer

Excellent washer quite and roomy with lots of features
Takes WAY too long to wash a load of clothes.

I bought this washing machine on November 10, 2011. I must say first of, that the machine washes clothes as well as the next washing machine - but the washing time is WAY too long. On average, i took almost 2HOURS to wash an average size batch of all whites. I believe most of the time its due to the automatic leveling/weight sensors that the machine uses in order to calculate and fully understand the size of the load. The stop/start button is sometimes of an annoyance to deal with due to the fact that holding the button does not always cancel the washing cycle and allow access the washing compartment to add a shirt that you might have forgot to add last minute to the batch. Nonetheless, it washes clothes - no doubt about that. But, the whole washing cycle takes WAY too long(and thats without the extra rinse cycle on)
DO NOT BUY!!!! Machine broke after 2 years!

Bought this and maybe used it once per week for exactly 2 years. The washer got rusty, and it would not rinse clothes properly. Used HE detergent as instructed and clothes come out full of suds. Very poor quality. No wonder Sears doesn't sell this Model MVWC300XW anymore. Pulled it from the store because they know it is poor quality.
Gets out of balance too easily.

Cannot wash anything as heavy as a bath robe or blanket without getting out of balance. This is disappointing.
Better than those overpriced front load washers

I love this machine. I would not trade it for any other machine. We were on a budget and could not afford to buy a washer dryer set for $2000.The first day I had it in our home I washed about 10 loads of laundry and I noticed how clean our clothes were (and I only use cold water) and how fast the clothes dried. Fast drying clothes means the washer is spinning out all the excess water and doing its job.The machine makes noises one might consider abnormal if you are not aware of the noises the new washer and dryers make now days. The wash time does take a little longer than I am used to with all the sensing but that gives me time to fold and put away everything from the dryer.I have read some reviews about the washer not filling up with enough water. I dont know how anyone would know if there is enough water or not as the lid locks. Also, if you read the directions on the top of the lid it even states that it does not notfill up all the way with waster and that should not freak anyone out.
