We just bought this washer. So far it seems to do a great job. This model came highly recommended. The machine does make a LOT of noise. That is my biggest complaint so far. My experience with HE washers has been good with removing stains but not so well with odors. I just washed clothes that had been worn to a bonfire & had HEAVY smoke smell- the Cabrio did a great job in one wash!

I am actually hoping that this washing machine doesn't last long because it is terrible. Any benefits of being high efficencey are lost due to the fact that most loads have to be washed twice to get clean. Clothes are wrinkled and have dry patches. Dirt is still on clothes. Must use extra rinsce cycle everytime. Every item must be shaken out before it is put in the dryer to get rid of some of the wrinkles. This machine is making more work and taking more of my time. Would have stuck with the old fashioned machine if could do over!

Comments about Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum White Gas Dryer:
This four year old washer broke before my 13 year old dryer from a much less popular and cheaper brand. HATE IT! This is the third time in the last year we've had to call a repair man and he told us this time to buy a new one because it would be just as expensive to fix it. Now we have to go buy another brand new washer. Needless to say I will not be buying the same brand again and I am not pleased.

4 years it's shot
Complete garbage 4 years old bearing shot.
Junked in under 4 years
from Ellis, KS
Thank goodness I bought the 5 year extended warranty. I have had it worked on 4 times and the last time it is not feasible to repair. Worked great at first but continually leaked and it became very loud like a bearing was out.

4 years old and will cost around $400 to fix makes me a very angry consumer.

Worst washer ever!
Does not clean clothes. Shows error codes constantly. When the error codes come up, it just keeps filling up with water. Doesn't spin the clothes out, they are soaking wet after a cycle. This is a very expensive machine, and just awful. Buyers, do not buy this product. If you google it, there are thousands of complaints on this machine, and Whilrpool has done nothing about it. FYI, I see there are great reviews, and I agree, it was great for about 6 months. I loved it then, after a few months, it goes downhill, the sensors are all off, and it sounds like a jet plane in your house, and the clothes aren't clean.

I would not recommend this machine to anyone. Our clothes were hardly cleaned, the washer had an odor despite using affresh, it put little holes into our clothes. It lasted 4-5 years, ? bearings went bad and we couldn't find anyone to repair it. The repairman we called (2 different ones) said those take up too much time to repair for a problem that it may not even be and it wasn't worth their time! Horrible machine for all the money.

From lid lock code, to rusted out springs in the lid, to the dreaded F51 code, this washing machine is junk and Whirlpool, a company built on quality products, is now synonymous with cheap, overpriced and inferior products. I would advise everyone too spread the word. The issues with this washer are well documented. In fact, Whirlpool has even changed the manufacturer of the faulty part (control board) that causes the F51 code. Doesn't changing the manufacturer somehow admit to guilt? And yet, there's still no recall. Class action law suit anyone? Today is Day No. 1 in my campaign to call Whirlpool out.

Does not last
from Manchester, MI
We purchased this washer just over 2 years ago and it's all rusted inside and rust is getting all over the clothes. Whirlpool won't have anything to do with helping to fix it.

3 year old machine that spins water out and on the floor repair man no help now i know why it was discontinued
Quite running machine
from Irvington, AL
You can hardly hear the machine run, it cleans real well, I was surprised at the cleaning. I like the fact that you can pause the machine to add forgotten clothing without restarting the timer.
