Totally awesome washer! I was a little concerned about the price, but, after receiving the washer and using it I have found that I got exactly what I paid for. I now feel like my clothes were not getting clean from my old washer. 12 cycles to use . I have used all but one now. The Allergen, but, I will end up using that one eventually. You can actually set each cycle different then the default cycle. It does spin hard enough to wrinkle your clothes more then a agitator washer, but, the wrinkles come out in the dryer and you can adjust the spin speed on each cycle also. On each cycle you can adjust the wash temp, the spin speed, and the soil level. Each one has 4 levels. It gives you lots of options. Most cycles are around 1 hour long. You can use rapid wash if you are in a hurry and use the other levels with that. Rapid wash is like 37 minutes long.

Purchased A Bravos thinking I would do a good thing for the ecology (conserve Energy/Water) and just before the end of the warranty period it started making bad noises. Called their tech service and was advised I probably was not balancing the load properly. Tried their suggestions and the noise kept getting louder. Again called tech service and then was advised it probably was the transmission and cost to repair was more than new purchase. Was offered a 20% rebate on a new machine. Enough from Maytag, a Speed Queen is being delivered today. On a similar note, a out of warranty LG TV experienced a problem and was covered 100% by warranty. So much for trying to buy American built.

Comments about Maytag Bravos XL White Top Load Washer:
we bought this bravos maytag washer used about a year ago . we puchased it from a repair man who repairs for a living . the bravos needed a new tub bearing set installed before we bough it . it was about 3 yrs old at the time he thought . we had some issues with the washer at first . some socks got stuck between the tub and tub liner causing the washer to give error codes . after fishing the socks out of the tub liner twice we learned how to better load the washer . also we do not load socks and panties and underwear in the drum any more unless they are in a laundry wash bag now . since those changes were made no more problems with the washer with cloths stuck in the tub liner . the washer washes great saves alot of water and soap . it seems to be a good product . we do need to get anew top for it some time due to the top rusting under neath . probably from soap products .
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use very little detergent and clean the washer regularly. It still leaves scum on darker clothes. Have to wash delicates on normal cycle or they will not come out clean. Always use the extra rinse. So for dark colors, I have to wash normal with extra rinse then re wash with no soap to get clean. In addition, there is not a soak cycle. And clothes come out tangled and wrinkled. I've never despised an appliance, but this one is irritating. Someone called to extend the warranty and I old them why would I want this thing to last longer. Will be happy when it breaks.

I bought it for years ago, and it already has to be replaced. Would be the same washer if there is an updated version that lasts longer

Clothes are so wrinkled coming out of the washer and most times the dark clothes have white debris on them . Friend says maybe I am overloading?? It's only a full basket of laundry but isn't that what large capacity should handle.? Cannot wait for it to break so I can replace and it won't be another Maytag. Fyi. Dryer is ok though. But cannot really screw up a dryer.

Consistency had issues with bolt holding wash tub to machine coming loose. Three yeas old, multiple repairs with no fix. Appreciate that Maytag offered a replacement at cost.Did not like the low water feature since some clothes did not get completely clean. Replaced with a model that offers a high water option.

Leaking and noise after 3 years of normal use. My wife and one child and this washer is very loud and now leaking from the upper baskets for the detergent and softener. NOW i can fix just about anything i have take this machine apart and put it back together so i am darn clear on what I am doing. I can replace the baskets for the detergent as i have sent build up in them... Alright, ok maybe that happens after three years. BUT the noise, the bearing going??? Three years and this unit costed A lot. It replaced a 10 year old washer that ran fine. We wanted new. Do not buy this product

Will never buy Maytag again!
I purchased a top of the line, very expensive Maytag washet and dryer. After only having 3 years I'm having to replace it. The parts to have it repaired cost over $400. plus labor. Then no guarantee it won't do it again in 3 years. It will not spin water out of my cloths 90% of the time and when it does work it sounds like a jet plane. Very disappointed !!!
