I would purchase this model again. They are fantastic. I have a tendency to over load previous washers and have not had the problem with this one as it has more than enough room. I live in an apartment and both the washer and dryer are ultra quiet. Does a great job cleaning, even very dirty clothes. Just make sure you keep the lid open when not in use to keep the tank from smelling on the washer and use the Afresh product at least monthly.

In an effort to save water, you have missed the point of the machine. There must be enough water to cover the clothes, otherwise I am forced to use the BULKY cycle for all clothes. The sensitivity for evenly distributed clothes causes me to re-adjust before being able to get the machine to properly wring out my clothes.I have pooled the clothes around the center, so I know I have used it properly. After one year, I have already had a maintanence visit because of the faulty latch on the lid, would not latch all of a sudden. So irritated that it locks you out ---for your protection. Funny I survived 45 yrs of washing clothes, without having to be protected and I may need another service visit, which are $$$$.I have had different washers over the years because of moving during 30 yrs, as an Army wife. No maintenance in even 10 yr old washers.Since I never get frustrated to this level, my husband said We can dump it and buy a different brand!!!!I will be calling to talk to someone in person.

doesn't wash well
At just a little over 4 years the speed control motor stopped working and the mother board is starting to fail. Very disappointed.
Too many setting options that I believe cause problems.

I bought this four years ago and it has been repaired twice. This is amazing to me as we don't use this washing machine that much.

We have had our pair of Maytag washer and dryer for 3 years and already the washer is making a grinding noise and appears the dryer's heating coil appears to failing.
Maytag Bravos X review
from Acworth, GA
I bought my Maytag Bravos X washer a few years ago and it still works like new. I am very pleased with how clean my clothes smell and feel. It is energy efficient and can sense how much water to use for the amount of clothes you put in. The allergen setting is very useful and sanitary.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We purchased this several years ago and wish we had our old Kenmore
Not as good as my last Maytag washer
Have had an issue with white residue showing up on dark clothes for quite some time and have to put the items through an additional Rinse and Spin cycle to clean it. Finally decided to call a repairman to have it checked out. We bought an extended warranty so unfortunately, we have to use a repair company of their choice. They came out once, looked in the washer, took pictures, then said they would have to come back once they described everything to the warranty service. I purchased a Maytag washer only because I never had a problem with my other model.

I was forced to give 1 star but it doesn't deserve it. We bought this washing machine 3 years ago. It started sounding really loud in the spin cycle. Called a maytag repair man. Gear casing needed to be replace estimated at $450 to repair. Washing machine will have to be replaced.
Large drum, commercial grade!

I work for the military and have heavy, dirty gear. This cleans it no problem! Deep wash gets rid of all the dirt, sweat, and oils. Great purchase!
Inefficient. Waste of Money. Hate It. Never Again!

Not effective at cleaning even basic load of clothes. I won't even bother trying to fill the tub more than about a third of the way even with light items such as t-shirts. Long sleeves get tangled as do long pants. Lightweight comforters, blankets, sheets, or jackets wind up spreading out across the tub acting as a filter for all the lint, dust or hair in the machine. A taller agitator would help tremendously. Sometimes clothes come out smelling like dirty laundry so, I have to wash them again. I usually wind up setting to the longest duration wash cycle and almost always add "extra rinse" to each load. Alternatively, I'll soak a load for at least 30 minutes then run a normal load with extra rinse. This process significantly increases the time to do laundry while significantly decreasing the so-called high efficiency concept. Worst appliance I've bought in my life. The technology appears to be the same or similar used by Lucky-Goldstar (now LG brand) used in Korea nearly 30 years ago. LG must have sold the inefficient technology to Maytag/Whirlpool and kept the good stuff for themselves! Maytag? Never again! I won't buy another Maytag appliance of any kind--looks like it's going to be Samsung or LG.
