I really can't stand going to a real movie theater, people are just so annoying. So last year I was determined to get as close to a theater experience in my own home as possible. After much research, I bought this projector, plus other components like a 100" electric screen. The projector was easy to install on my ceiling. I did it entirely on my own and had never hung one before. The picture is absolutely beautiful when the room is dark and is actually pretty decent during the day with light in the room. I don't notice any lag when I play XBox games with it. And the 3D is awesome as well, great depth and a sharp image, although a little darker than a 2D movie (I'm in eco mode for both so it probably would be brighter on regular). To the people complaining about glasses, I've heard, but haven't confirmed, that PS3 active shutter glasses work with it. I'm very happy with this projector and don't miss going to a movie theater one bit!

i can not speak highly enough about this product. i have had so many friends ask me where they could go and buy one of there own. The picture quality is amazing. and the 3D blows away the compitition. I set up my PS3 on it and play the new 3D games that are coming out. Just imagine a 200+inch 3D Game right in your bedroom or living room. i just wish i knew about the new models epson has out now like the 6020 . that model has 320,000-1 contrast and converts 2d to 3d.

I've used it for about a week now, just mostly playing the ps3. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to set the projector to display in 1080, but in about 10 mins i found the solution...set it to dynamic. Now Im seeing the visuals even better. My brother couldn't believe how clear the pic was showing when i sent him a video of my setup (hv it in the basement). So far Im satisfied w the money spent. First time using a projector for everyday television....wow!!

My wife and I were use to having a standard 32" TV for a long time. When we bought a new house our kids talked us into having a projector TV. We envisioned the type of picture that was available in the early 90's, What we found out is the Epson really is a great unit with a fantastic picture. My wife wont let me paint the wall so we can get a even better picture, but it still is great as is. One bit of advise is to remember to clean the air intake filter regularly, and if your area is prone to brown outs or power outages, expect to blow the bulb if you dont turn the unit off ahead of time. Get a extended service plan if its available.

I am not deeply involved with the latest and greatest in technology so I was very frustrated with all that was involved with choosing the right unit for my room. ie lumes, throw ratio,cost of 3d glasses by unit, replacement bulbs life and cost, etc. However once I chose the Epson 3010 I never looked back. There was nothing to setting it up and I have had the unit for several months. I am still blown away by the color and clairity of my 10'6" horizontal picture. The only negative is the room must be void of all ambiant light. The more light the more your picture will wash out. The trade off is however a huge positive in the fact that you do not need to spend a lot of money on the screen. I originally just pointed it at my medium brown wall and really saw no urgency to get the screen because the picture was so phenomenal. I eventually searched for some economical screen options and rolled(shortest nap) the screen area of the wall with Sher-Will smooth enamel-Proclassic interior acrylic satin, extra white. (Do not use a foam roller-air bubbles). My cost was less then 1/6 of the recomended Goo and forget about the screens. Unless your Quentin Tarantino, this is all you need. Lastly the 3D is rediculous. My friend said "if it was not for my coffee table in the middle of the basketball court he would not know he was not in the arena live"! Yes I am a real consumer who finally got more then expected. That never seems to happen so I was compelled to share this info. I have been a contractor for 25 years so I explored many avenues to get the desired effect and moving walls was not out of the realm. I achieved all that I wanted in a way anybody can accomplish. Atleast check it out, You will not regret it, unless you already purchased something else.

This is my first home projector and after reading many reviews I think I made the best choice. The 3D really looks good and I did'nt think I would watch it that much. But after looking at it on my 3010 I changed my mind. No regrets here. Thanks Epson.
