Not only do I own a 6 quart KA mixer, but also an Artisan food processor. When it came time to replace my slow cooker, my first choice was of course, KitchenAid. I love this slow cooker. Like all KA appliances, it is both aesthetically pleasing and a workhorse as well. Cleans like a breeze, cooks chef-worthy meals and looks great on my countertop. Don't waste money on a cheap slow cooker, get the best name in countertop appliances and you'll have years of great meals.

Our kitchen is full of KitchenAid products, so I am surprised at the poor quality of the slow cooker's insert. I received this cooker as a Christmas gift last year, have used it less than 2 dozen times, if that, and the ceramic insert cracked while using it a couple weeks ago. I smelled a burning smell - lifted out the insert - only to find the stew had somehow "spilled" into the metal area of the slow cooker. That "spill" turned out to be a leak from a hairline crack in the insert. Given the way we care for our cookware, electrics, etc - cool before washing, storing carefully (inside, room temp), etc., I am perplexed at how easily (and soon) this insert failed. This review does not reflect my satisfaction with KitchenAid products in general, but I would not purchase this slow cooker again and do not recommend it to others. For the price, this slow cooker should have lasted years, not months.

Comments about KitchenAid 6 Quart Stainless Steel Slow Cooker:
I received this as a gift, I should have thrown out my old one a long time ago. Having a timer is so much more energy efficient.

Easy to Use
By Team Constance

I received this as a birthday gift and I am glad I did. It is very easy to use and I love how you wrap the cord on the underside to keep it from snagging on something when trying to store it. I would recommend this to all levels of home cooks.

The best appliance I ever purchased! So many great uses, can't even list them all. Thanks Kitchenaid!
Like the stainless steel exterior and the black crock. Excellent size for meats and crock seems sturdier than my first porcelain one
Couldn't be happier!!

Lately anything I cooked in my old crock pot would burn, even on the lowest setting, which defeats the purpose of slow cooking while at work. I would end up throwing out anything I cooked in it. I came across the KitchenAid slow cooker. Boy am I glad I did! It cooks everything perfectly. I made a breakfast casserole overnight and I was so worried that the eggs would scorch I woke up in the middle of the night expecting it to start burning to the sides and to my surprise it didn't! I have cooked several things in it now and everything is just PERFECT. Best purchase I ever made!! :)

Easy to use, easy to clean and loaded with about every feature you could want in a slow cooker. It is meant to be a simple device after all. I have made chilis, soups and stews without any issues. The hinged glass lid is a nice idea.
Ceramic Liner Cracks
from Laantzville BC
My wife was given this for x-mas (2015) and we've used it 6 times and the Ceramic liner cracked while cooking and left fluids all over the counter and floor. Replacement liners are out of stock, now what??
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This Slow Cooker is Too Slow
from Tulsa OK
Here's the problem...No Gaskets. The lid and frame need gaskets.Without a lid gasket, the lid rocks, therefore losing heat and moisture.Without a frame gasket, heat is lost between the frame and crock.I realize it is called a slow cooker but, really, this thing will not cook.I notice the gaskets are sold separately. Give me a break.
First time using & Error Code: aka 'There goes your dinner!'

Maybe it was the one I got but I have never had anything in my kitchen NOT WORK upon first use. I think it cooked for 35 minutes and then I noticed no lights on? So I turned it on again and turned it to my setting- same thing happens. Then 'Er' pops up. Scrambling for the book I read on and on, only to find that everything they say to do, I did (checking circuits, outlet, etc). I was lost. A KitchenAid? My first, my one and only... KitchenAid??? I can hear my Austrian mom in the back of my head, "Tawesa, you know all those glowy electric gadgets in cars and stuff that's suppose to be cool doesn't last lowng." ...Not cool man, not cool.
