Not only do I own a 6 quart KA mixer, but also an Artisan food processor. When it came time to replace my slow cooker, my first choice was of course, KitchenAid. I love this slow cooker. Like all KA appliances, it is both aesthetically pleasing and a workhorse as well. Cleans like a breeze, cooks chef-worthy meals and looks great on my countertop. Don't waste money on a cheap slow cooker, get the best name in countertop appliances and you'll have years of great meals.

Our kitchen is full of KitchenAid products, so I am surprised at the poor quality of the slow cooker's insert. I received this cooker as a Christmas gift last year, have used it less than 2 dozen times, if that, and the ceramic insert cracked while using it a couple weeks ago. I smelled a burning smell - lifted out the insert - only to find the stew had somehow "spilled" into the metal area of the slow cooker. That "spill" turned out to be a leak from a hairline crack in the insert. Given the way we care for our cookware, electrics, etc - cool before washing, storing carefully (inside, room temp), etc., I am perplexed at how easily (and soon) this insert failed. This review does not reflect my satisfaction with KitchenAid products in general, but I would not purchase this slow cooker again and do not recommend it to others. For the price, this slow cooker should have lasted years, not months.

Works great; a little fragile

I received this a gift in 2015, based on the recommendation of Cook's Illustrated. It holds a lot of food, and I appreciate the very long timer and the fact that, despite being a slow cooker, it heats pretty quickly! That means I can toss prepared ingredients in right from the fridge in the morning, let it sit on high until they warm up, then reset back to the recipe temperature before I head to work. The only negative is that the pot itself is long and thin, rather than fat and round, so it did not fit in my sink. As a result, the upper right corner broke into several pieces as I was moving it around while washing it. That's a bummer--it was a real kitchen workhorse.
First Slow Cooker-Would Purchase Again

It is my first slow cooker, although I have used others. I like the controls and the job it did on my first use. I can't wait for my next time using it. Capacity was a nice size and the temperature seemed to stay constant and provided thorough, steady cooking.
I love my Kitchen Aid slow cooker. So easy to use. Just add all your ingredients, let everything cook & serve directly from the ceramic dish/vessel. The ceramic dish can also be used for storing any leftovers in the refrigerator.

Great slow cooker
from Maryville TN
The cooker is large enough for a long pork loin, large roasts, ribs, and a chicken. We slow cooked some dry beans that came out perfect. The stainless finish is very attractive and matches our other kitchen appliances.
Simple to use, nice size
Love this crockpot! This is the first digital one I've owned and I love being able to set it to cook for certain length of time.
easy to use and understand the operation of. Made a slow cooker recipe of Country ribs and worked as i expected.
