Not only do I own a 6 quart KA mixer, but also an Artisan food processor. When it came time to replace my slow cooker, my first choice was of course, KitchenAid. I love this slow cooker. Like all KA appliances, it is both aesthetically pleasing and a workhorse as well. Cleans like a breeze, cooks chef-worthy meals and looks great on my countertop. Don't waste money on a cheap slow cooker, get the best name in countertop appliances and you'll have years of great meals.

Our kitchen is full of KitchenAid products, so I am surprised at the poor quality of the slow cooker's insert. I received this cooker as a Christmas gift last year, have used it less than 2 dozen times, if that, and the ceramic insert cracked while using it a couple weeks ago. I smelled a burning smell - lifted out the insert - only to find the stew had somehow "spilled" into the metal area of the slow cooker. That "spill" turned out to be a leak from a hairline crack in the insert. Given the way we care for our cookware, electrics, etc - cool before washing, storing carefully (inside, room temp), etc., I am perplexed at how easily (and soon) this insert failed. This review does not reflect my satisfaction with KitchenAid products in general, but I would not purchase this slow cooker again and do not recommend it to others. For the price, this slow cooker should have lasted years, not months.

What Slow Cooker!
Comments about Kitchenaid Stainless Steel 6 Quart Slow Cooker:
I received my Slow Cooker for Christmas. The highly rated Consumer Reports Cooker came with a defective lid or liner - so no tight fit. Still on backorder. Would have just returned it if I had purchased it in the store. So annoyed. Today is 2/10/16.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

really like this slow cooker
from Saint Charles, IL
I've had this slow cooker for about a month now and have used it several times. It works great and is very solid. I especially like the option of setting cooking times in half hour increments. The ceramic crock is very easy to clean - no liner needed. The built-in cord storage under the cooker is also a nice feature that I wish more of my appliances had.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Perfect Slow Cooker
I purchased this 6-quart slow cooker to interest my husband to start cooking meals. Perfect solution. I now come home and the meal is ready and delicious. After 33 years of marriage he has finally put on an apron!! The cooker is easy to clean, easy to set and made a happy wife. Deb

Slow cooker star

The Kitchrn Aid slow cooker's oval shape and size gives us all the space we need, even with large quantities. It is a handsome addition to our counter top. Highly recommend.

Really nice product. Cooks beautifully and evenly. Very simple to operate. No frills. Just does its job.
Does not heat up, does not work
from Chicago, IL
I just got it today and immediately tried to cook a beef stew to see if it worked as expected. I cut the meat in small pieces and added about 1 1/2 cups of liquid and set it on high for 6 hours. After 5 hours it was not even boiling, so I added 2 more hours and an onion cut in small pieces. After 7 hours the meat and onion were not cooked. I had to remove them from the pot and finish cooking them in another slow cooker I have at home. I plan to return it tomorrow, but hate having to go thru the trouble of returning it. Based on other reviers with the same problem, the product should be discontinued and shows that quality control is not good because Kitchenaid is selling and shipping a defective product.
no temp guide line
I used the slow cooker and it didn't cook anything even on high! I love Kitchen-aid products but this one comes up short. no where is it stated what temperature rangefor any temperature setting! It is like pushing those dummy street crossing buttons and waiting for ever to cross
Bought this with a wedding gift card. Used it like 6 times and it quit working. Gives me worry about leaving in cooking when I'm not home. Of course I called and got the "out of warranty" and un willing to help. used this like 6 times! I will never buy KitchenAid again!
