Overview:
Strong recommendation for a product that is built specifically to handle the needs of athletes without compromising sound quality.

Rating - My Rating Scale 1-5 (1 is poor, 5 is excellent)
Setup and configuration: 1
Sound Quality: 4.5
Comfort: 3
Durability: 4.5
Fit/Stay in Ear: 4
Sweat/Water Resistance: 4.5
Player Controls: 4
Sound isolation: 4.5

Anecdotal:
Upon opening the box, you are a bit overwhelmed by all the pieces it contains...it reminded me of setting up a board game like Life or Mouse Trap. The ear pieces where labeled by size, the inner ear pieces were not labeled and were a bit difficult to tell what size they where. All in all it took about an hour to setup the headphones and get the fit perfected.

Once setup, I found it took a little practice to get them in my ear quickly, but after a week or so it takes no time at all and they are locked in and ready to go.

The sounds quality is a huge upgrade from any other "sport" type headphone I have used, and even non-sport, fully over the ear headphones. It has crisp mids and highs, with a great low end. Compared to my other favorite sport headphones, its is a serious upgrade.

The Comfort is improving, and I did end up changing out the ear pieces a couple times, but early on if I had them in for about 2 hours my ears would start hurting a bit. After a week, I can have them in for about 4 hours before I run into some minor discomfort.

These headphones are tough. I could see potential problems with losing some of the pieces, but they are all well made and have handled my tugging on them and even accidentally stepping on them. They also can be washed and overall just feel rugged.

They fit in my ears pretty well and takes a good pull to get them out of the ears. It does take some practice to get them into your ears (can be challenging during a run), but they didn't ever fall out during a run or workout, which has been a problem for me with other headphones I have used.

I have gotten these headphones seriously wet with no change in sound quality or fit. I haven't tried to listen to them underwater, as I am not sure based on the description that they can perform underwater, but they can be washed.

The player controls did work on my iPad 2, but did not work on my iPod 4, and caused problems with my Droid X while listening to Pandora. It was causing the play/pause button to continually be pressed which made for an interesting experience. In all fairness to iSport, it only says its supports, iPod, iPhone and iPad, so it should probably list which version of the iPod it supports.

These headphones provide some serious sound isolation. Say goodbye to the screaming kid behind you on the plane or loud distractions during a workout. The iSport blocks out almost all sound (including wind while on a bike) improving the already good listening experience. The downside of this, is that it makes it impossible to hear much of anything, especially while working out with other people or in the midst of traffic. I find myself pulling out one ear in order to be more aware of what's going on around me.

* I received the iSport headphones at no cost in return for giving a fair, honest and unbiased review of the headphones, with no expectation of a favorable review.

Let me start off by saying that I've had to return these 7 times now, within a year. Not one pair has lasted longer than 2-3 months. I don't use them vigorously, I use them as they are intended: for sporty use. I wear them to the gym, and use them at my desk at work, that's it! Yet they cant even hold up to daily use, that shouldn't cause headphones to break this often.Every single time it seems like its the control talk piece that starts to go out. It will start to make my iphone skip songs, activate voice control, turn volume down on its own...etc. This is the biggest complaint i have so far: When i called customer service this time to have them replaced, i was told they are water proof/sweat proof, EXCEPT FOR THE CONTROL TALK PIECE. How does this make any sense at all? even in the product description on this website, they are described as being water proof, and washable. what is the consumer supposed to do? cover the control talk piece up with plastic before wearing them for sport use, or as the description says "surfing"? how could you surf with them, when the control talk piece isn't waterproof??? I couldn't believe the customer service rep flat out told me that this was the case. She also went on to tell me that this many replacements is typical for headphones that get daily use, what a load of [*]!! paying [$] for a pair of headphones, you'd think they'd last longer than 2-3 months, and not expect to have to return them often, as the customer service rep put it. 2 days later and i still have yet to receive a call back from a supervisor, or a manager like i was promised would happen, SAME DAY. customer service is terrible and none of the reps i have talked to show even the slightest bit of understanding or relating to my problem, they all describe it as typical, and it should be expected. I really hope others that are considering this product will read my review and be steered away from these products. You're better off buying a 20-40$ pair of headphones. All the cheap headphones I've purchased have far exceeded the life span of my monster headphones. I will no longer be a faithful customer to this company, as they clearly dont care about the products they sell, how they're marketed, or about the customers who purchase them.stay away from monster products if you wish to avoid headaches, and constant returns in the future.

Comments about Monster iSport Immersion Blue In-Ear Headphones With ControlTalk:

I got these earphones to replace a pervious pair I use when running or skiing. They have a bass-heavy sound, which is not really what I'looking for, but the mids are solid and the highs are crisp.
I would like to love these earphones, but unfortunaately they just will not fit my ears. I've tried every possible combination of supplied earpieces, I've tried the tips from my old earphones, and I have bought foam tips. After four months of trying I stiil can't maintain a good seal and am ready to try another brand.
    Too bad.

I liked these pretty well at first, but they've recently began to fall apart. Both ear pieces have cracked and torn off and the ear tips fall off constantly. They have also begun to crackle a touch, indicating a possible short or broken wire somewhere within or near the plug. I've had them about a year.

This is a great product. Iuse this headphones during school, at the gym, and computer use. These were replacements that I got for my previous Monster Cable headphones. I was very satisfied with the sound and how comfortable they were. The bass, mids, and highs are crisp and clear. Only downfall is that they lasted for 2 months. TOday after I got home for the gym the left earbud started to fade out and does not work anymore. Very dissapointed in the build quality.

These headphones fit great and are very comfortable. Sound is good once you have them fitted properly.

I had been using them during workouts, but with lots of moisture generated (sweat), they would eventually slip out.

Then after just a couple of months one of the speakers stopped functioning.

These things are great but they do take some trial and error to get the right fit ... even when you think you got it you wear them for a 2 hour workout and they Start to feel ununcomfortable ... it took me a couple of weeks of using them to get it just right and now they fit good and I forget they are even in there ... they block out almost all external sound when they are just in your ear but with music on you dont hear anything ... ive had these for a few months now and ive had no issues ... I have not attempted sticking them under running water though dont have the need to prove that theory ... I ordered mine right from Monster there were too many fakes out there and I did not want to have any problems ... I would recommend these to anyone ... and I do

I've just been really happy with these. I have had a few pairs of headphones over the years that I wear daily to bike and walk the dog. They've shorted out from sweat (I guess) and just haven't held up to daily use. I've had these for a few months now and they are great. They don't tangle, I'm not nervous about feeding the cord under my jacket so it doesn't get caught on the handlebars of my bike, and the I line remote works great for skipping songs when biking and pausing when walking the dog (people like to ask me what kind of do I have--a lot ). Plus the sound is great and the isolation is just enough that I don't hear everything, but still here some traffic when biking.

All of the things others love about these headphones are true. Great sound, great fit, etc.

My one big issue is that they weren't developed with Android users in mind as well. I can hear the music, and it sounds great, but the only button that works on the cord with my Galaxy Nexus is the play/pause one. The volume up and down don't work as well as the skip track double-tap. (Maybe iDevices and Android use different signals to transmit data?)

I get that this is an "iWhatever" accessory, but I think Monster is really alienating a huge potential client base by not making an Android compatible version.

I wound up buying a pair for my sister for Christmas for her new iPod anyway, and I definitely recommend them to apple device users, but Android owners beware!
