iRobot Roomba 581 Vacuum Cleaning Robot, Model 58101
The iRobot Roomba 581 is approximately 3.6kgs with a diameter for 33cm and
a height of 8cm. The detecting sensors are placed on the top with a large contact
sensing bumper as well in the front. The cliff and object sensors are at the
base of the front side which sends out infrared signals to detect objects. The
spinning side brush moves in a circular motion to pull in dirt and debris as
the Roomba 581 moves along. These brushes can clean edges and hard to reach
areas. The counter rotating brushes are beneath the robot that is effective
in picking up large dirt and debris from the floor and carpets. Time scheduling
controls are provided on the top base. This allows presetting time to make the
vacuum robot start cleaning automatically at that particular time. Clean, Dock
and Spot options are useful functions to control the vacuum robot. Clean mode
is how the cleaning process starts, Dock mode provides the ability to make the
robot return to Home Base for recharging and Spot mode instructs it to clean
a small area using its spiral motion.
