We've had our dishwasher for over 6 months now and are happy with the performance. This is the 3rd or 4th in a series of Whirlpool dishwashers we've owned, and I think one major improvement is that this no longer has the food chopper (i.e. garbage disposal) in the bottom, but instead has a cage that catches the larger food chunks, which you simply empty after every few uses. The food chopper invariably broke and led to the demise of at least 1 or 2 of our previous dishwashers. I'm not crazy about the design of the silverware basket. The basket is divided into 6 sections. There is a handle that angles out over the middle 2 sections. This combined with the large holes in the dividers between the sections, tends to send our silverware in at an angle and they get wedged in, especially when our children load the dishwasher. The cycles are rather long up to 3-1/2 hours for normal cycle, but we usually run it overnight, so the "Overnight" cycle (even LONGER) works great for us. If we run it during the day, a use the "1-hour" cycle, which works great.

This dishwasher replaced a 30 year old Hotpoint that was still going strong, but the racks were rusting. This Whirlpool dishwasher is so quiet compared to our old one. It was very hard to figure out how to load, it took me about three weeks to decide on the best placement of dishes. The diagram that comes in the instructions is useless unless you have the tiny dishes that are shown in the diagram. On our old dishwasher we always used the normal wash setting with no drying and it took about 45 minutes. If the dishes sat overnite, they were pretty much dry in the morning. Get your dishtowel ready for this machine! It has a one hour setting, but the drying cycle adds more time to this and the dishes don't seem dry at all. I usually use the "Eco" setting which takes a whopping 2.75 hours! But the manual says that it uses less energy and water. It's hard to believe that running so much longer could take LESS energy. This Eco setting does clean well. It seems to clean better than the 1 hour setting which uses more water. I do not use the silverware rack on the door, but put it in the bottom rack. The door placement seems cumbersome. I was worried about having to clean the filters, but they are very easy to remove and clean. They recommend you use the premeasured packets of detergent. I was already using the Cascade action packs and these seem to work fine in this machine. All told I am happy with this dishwasher; it is so much quieter and it cleans better than my old machine (looks nicer, too).

I love my new dishwasher. It is quiet and easy to program. I often use the delay setting so it will run at night when I am asleep.

I thought this was going to be a great item. I thought iit had to get broken in to start cleaning but after 2 months it is still not doing the job. Not even on light soiled dishes. If I had the money for an uninstall and a reinstall I would take it back.My next move is a call for service.

I like the quietness of this dishwasher as I have a kitchen that is open to the living room. Also at first I didn't like the silverware basket on the door but since it was able to be moved its great!

This dish washer came with a new house we bought and I love it! It's quiet and I never have to rewash the dishes. I would buy this product again if we ever had to replace it.

I replace my 30 yr old whirlpool with this amazing unit. Very quiet, large interior for tall items, large items fit very well. I like the removable silverware tray, you can leave it on the door or you can move it to the bottom basket. Either place the silverware comes out sparkling. Many wash cycles to choose from, depending on how much and what types of dishes you have loaded. As for pots & pans, I have always had to wash them by hand because either the would not be clean or they did not fit. Not anymore....they come out as if there is a built in scrubber! lol

this dishwasher has a lot of different settings and i love it.i have used different setting and they do great. the silverware basket is removable, love it. my overall opinion is this dishwasher is great.
