I use this 50 Pint product in a large lower floor bedroom in our Catskill vacation / rental property. At a 65% humidity setting, this unit seems work well but run constantly. If I was to buy another product, I would consider buying the 70 pint unit. Figuring the 70 pint unit would pull moisture out quicker and possibly run less.

I have two units for a 1200 sq ft basement. Decreased humidity from 60% to 40% in a week. No trouble with the hose connection.

This unit started acting flaky within a week. It ran okay for a few days, but then ran continuously without evaporator coils ever feeling cold, and not collecting water. I have 2 hygrometers showing high humidity. I'm grateful ABT has made it easy to send this back, and will continue to be a loyal ABT customer. ***Before you dismiss the following rant, please do your own research to dispute what follows*** I'm still hunting for a reliable dehumidifier. All recent positive dehumidifier reviews I've read have been written within a few months, or maybe a year of purchase. This is the third dehumidifier I've purchased in about a decade. They always start freezing up after a few years (at least 20-30 degrees above their minimal rated operation temp). My impression is that they may need a refrigerant refill, but I'm leery of the repair places around here. The dehumidifier I was using (before the last 3 disappointments) was close to 20 years old. Everything I've read supports the conclusion that something has changed in the past decade or so, and that (consumer grade) dehumidifiers don't last more than a few years. I'd be happy to pay more for something if I knew it was built to be repaired instead of discarded. I haven't found conclusive evidence that the $700 - $2K professional models can definitely be reliably repaired either, so I'm still hunting. I do NOT want to buy something else that'll break after only a few years - and you're not just supposed to throw these in the garbage, because of the refrigerant. I don't suppose ABT would stop carrying this junk out of protest to the manufacturers...

Anything with a compressor in it (air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators, etc) needs to be kept upright, so as not to stress the cooling system. The Fridgidaire box had "this end up" markings (as opposed to a Friedrich I ordered - and returned - from Amazon since ABT no longer carries Friedrich dehumidifiers). However, whoever packaged this, although there was enough padding, did not mark it so that it would be kept upright. And they put it in an outer box with handles on the horizontal ends, which guaranteed that it would be shipped on its side.

It is quiet enough to actually watch TV with it on. We can also move it up and downstairs fairly easily, it is not too heavy.

The product did not work. I called the company, they gave me suggestions how to fix it which did not work. They then said they would refund the purchase price which they did.
Although the product was defective, the customer service was very good.

Delivered fast. No damage to shipment. Bought this model due to Consumer Reports rating, and price at ABT. This is the quietest dehumidifier I've ever owned.

Bought this for my daughter's dorm room. It had a musty smell to it and maintenance said everything was fine with the A/C unit. Just visited her and the room is much more comfortable with no musty smell at all, easier to control the temp and the unit is performing exactly as we hoped it would. It was quiet enough for her to put it in her actual sleeping area without disturbing them.

An older Frigidaire dehumidifier I owned never worked when I tried to use the drain hose. Frigidaire definitely fixed this problem. I no longer have to empty the bucket. the controls are easy to use and I have no negative things to say about it. It works great.
