This product was purchased to control the environment of an under-the-porch storage room in the basement. Because this this room is outside of the main footprint of the house, it does not have any ventilation, and the sump pump for the whole-house dehumidifying system is housed there, resulting in a musty smell. The product so far has done a great job of decreasing the smell and increasing the comfort of the room. We have yet to take it off the continuous setting. We also noted that per the manual, the filter needs to be cleaned every 2 weeks, but the first time I removed it, I didn't notice any debris. (The filter can be a little tricky to get back in - you feel like you are forcing it.) The unit is a bit noisy - I am able to tune it out when I am in the larger space and it is behind a door, but if we get to where we are using the space for anything but storage and spending time in it (i.e. a home office), it may be too loud in that small space. (Not a big deal, will just turn off when in the space...) The unit is a bit heavy, but it is on wheels. So, up-and-down stairs is an issue, but across level floors is easy.

Works very well in lowering basement humidity to prevent mold growth. Noise level is very acceptable. Using continuous operation hooked up to a hose and this works very well.

I liked this dehumidifier so much that I went back to ABT and bought a second one a month later. it runs quietly and works great in two different storage rooms in our home. I would highly recommend it.

I live in a humid area and need to keep indoor humidity under 50% to control dust mites. This humidifier helps me do that and it works very well. The bucket is easy to empty and the unit is quieter than advertised.

Only problem is when I empty the water pan. Water pours out from pan in 2 directions and that can get sloppy if you are emptying it into a small or narrow drain.
