I received this microwave as a gift two years ago. I had to make some adjustments on the cooking time as most recipies are for 700-900W units. Other than that, it has served me well until yesterday when I was heating a cup of water for tea and spaks flew out the back of it. Today, it is recycled material but after reading reviews on most other brands, I will replace it with the same make/model.

We purchased this microwave oven because a microwave we have had for eleven years died. It was another brand and we could not purchase another like unit because that model is no longer available. So we started searching for a similar size, our counter is small between the fridge and a cupboard. We wanted a similar wattage and made the rounds of the stores in the third largest city in the state of Illinois. We thought after all of that effort we had found a good replacement. We are disappointed. It met the size and wattage requirement and had a 'new' Inverter technology which we were told would be great for us. It doesn't even pop popcorn worth a darn. With our old unit we hit "Popcorn' and chose 'Regular' or 'Snack' size and it did a beautiful job. We understood that it used "Sensor" technology. This Panasonic has three different ounce sizes to choose from, none of which exactly fit "Orville's snack size, and I can't get a descent popped bag. I've tried modifing the time using the plus and minus capability but to no good results. My wife is very unhappy that it is hard to see what is going on in the oven while heating something because the light in the oven is on the side near the front and would be much better placed near the rear so it would light what is rotating on the table and not glare in your eyes. She is really unhappy that when you open the door to check on something being heated the light does not stay on and you are not able to see to stir your soup or if it is boiling over. And if it has, you can't see very well to clean up the mess. We sure miss our old microwave!

Comments about Panasonic White 1.2 Cu. Ft. Microwave Oven:
This unit is reasonably meeting my expectation. But it last only 2 years. In the last few months, touching pads are not reliable. Sometimes they work, more times they would not work. And finally it quit working. Only the counter still counts for a few seconds, and the light inside still shine. My earlier old microwave ovens last much longer--about 4-5 years long.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The push bottom that opens the microwave seems to have the plastic coating all roughed up. I don't know if it is a packaging coating or the plastic coating that is permanent but it makes a brand new item look old. I had to carry the thing upstairs and I cant deal with having to mail it back so I am going to keep it even though the front face of it looks terrible. Oh well.

Works as expected. It's a microwave, for goodness sake.
Over the years I have purchased three of this same model. I just like it a lot. It is small, powerful and easy to use. Shipping from Panasonic was amazingly fast.

My 9 yr old Panasonic NN-H665 suddenly quit. Since I had been satisfied with its performance, I looked for a replacement and found the NN-SN651 to be an almost identical oven, except for 100 watts less power and a welcome push button door opener. So far it has worked flawlessly with no learning curve since it works just like our old one.

the unit is in the repair shop did not work from delivery..
Compact, Powerful, Noisy, Slightly Odd
Plenty powerful at 1200 watts, and very compact for its capacity and wattage. Please with that. Overall construction as good or better than most. Door opens and closes solidly. It is fairly loud, maybe typical of the inverter technology, but I don't know. Mostly sounds like a loud fan. Door only opens to 90 degrees, which is mildly irritating. Control logic could be better, e.g. the quick add button does not also start the oven. How quick is that? The light is on only when the oven is heatingâ€"open the door and you peer into a dark oven. Not sure why somebody can't make a better than average microwave oven, but I couldn't find one.
