I received this microwave as a gift two years ago. I had to make some adjustments on the cooking time as most recipies are for 700-900W units. Other than that, it has served me well until yesterday when I was heating a cup of water for tea and spaks flew out the back of it. Today, it is recycled material but after reading reviews on most other brands, I will replace it with the same make/model.

We purchased this microwave oven because a microwave we have had for eleven years died. It was another brand and we could not purchase another like unit because that model is no longer available. So we started searching for a similar size, our counter is small between the fridge and a cupboard. We wanted a similar wattage and made the rounds of the stores in the third largest city in the state of Illinois. We thought after all of that effort we had found a good replacement. We are disappointed. It met the size and wattage requirement and had a 'new' Inverter technology which we were told would be great for us. It doesn't even pop popcorn worth a darn. With our old unit we hit "Popcorn' and chose 'Regular' or 'Snack' size and it did a beautiful job. We understood that it used "Sensor" technology. This Panasonic has three different ounce sizes to choose from, none of which exactly fit "Orville's snack size, and I can't get a descent popped bag. I've tried modifing the time using the plus and minus capability but to no good results. My wife is very unhappy that it is hard to see what is going on in the oven while heating something because the light in the oven is on the side near the front and would be much better placed near the rear so it would light what is rotating on the table and not glare in your eyes. She is really unhappy that when you open the door to check on something being heated the light does not stay on and you are not able to see to stir your soup or if it is boiling over. And if it has, you can't see very well to clean up the mess. We sure miss our old microwave!

Do Not Buy Panasonic Microwave
from Rochester, NY, USA
Panasonic Invertermodel NN-SN651W stopped working after 14 months of light use. This is a bad failed product and insult to consumer. A very poor reflection on panasonic brand.

The Best Deal in Town
from Germantown, MD
This item is among the top-rated counter-top microwave ovens of medium size. The unit as delivered works perfectly. It has more than enough features, more than any one person would probably ever use. It has inverter technology and the heat up of an item about the size of a medium-sized casserole right out of the refrigerator took a little less than a minute. Very satisfied and last, but not least, the delivered price by Abt is unbeatable.
Service and delivery comments:
I had difficuty in getting it delivered by UPS, and Abt Customer Service was prompt, polite and in correcting the situation.
Only lasted 18 months!
from Central New Jersey
Was replaced by a cheaper 1,000 Watts model microwave, not panasonic, that cooks slightly faster and hotter than the 1,200 Watt Panasonic..... which was one-half the cost! I was disappointed to say the least. The Panasonic was noisy while running and had a loud noisy vibration from the real sheet metal that took 4 shims to reduce the noise. There was no lamp while cooking which I also didn't like. I was looking forward to the Panasonic technology for reduced power cooking and did like that but I really didn't notice that the power reduction method appear to make any difference in cooking or reheating food. I dislike being so negative, but I was expecting the Panasonic to be a top of the line name but the microwave did only last 18 months. BTW, we are only two people using the microwave so it shouldn't have been overworked or abused. Too bad.....
Broke after 14 months
Purchased this microwave just over a year ago and it just stopped working. Everything just went dark in the middle of microwaving and it won't even light up or turn on now. Very disappointing. I had my last microwave (different brand) for 12 years. This one was more expensive and barely lasted a year. No longer under warranty, so I can't even get it fixed. Such a waste. The microwave wasn't that great overall anyway. It felt cheap to me, and always overcooked everything if you used it full power, so I had to use it at a lower power level every time I wanted to cook something. If you're undecided on what microwave to buy, I'd choose something else.
