on the first day of use, our tv intermittently would shut off and we could only get it back on by unplugging it and plugging it back in. (a pain with a wall mounted tv this big) after a couple days, it ran without a hiccup for about a 2 weeks. Then it shut off during a show and we could not get it to turn back on. Called Abt and they replaced it within 3 days. This is why I bought from Abt, great customer service. No issues on first day of use with replacement TV. Picture is great.

Tv is located in the basement. Picture quality is teriffic. The sound is fine. I have not hooked up a surround sound system to it yet. Only the digital cable box.

Bottom Line: this is an excellent TV if you want top picture quality without paying for extra features that you don't want or need.

I've owned this TV for about a month so far and I am very happy with my purchase. I did quite a bit of research and read thru a lot of reviews, I also did comparisons between LCD/LED and plasma before making the decision to purchase this model. I went to BB and looked at the various TV's as well. For plasma TV's the salesperson at BB recommended a Panasonic over the Samsung. I didn't see any difference in the picture quality, and I checked the reliability ratings in CR and there was no appreciable difference between the two brands. That being said, I couldn't justify spending more money to get the same sized Panasonic TV.

I ended up choosing a plasma over an LCD/LED for several reasons. You get more bang for your buck with plasma, a wider viewing angle, less blur, the annual energy cost is only $21 (per the Energy Guide) which is only slightly more than an LED TV, the "burn in" issue with plasma's has basically been resolved, and I was not really that concerned with screen glare.

This is a basic TV, which is what I wanted. The picture quality is excellent and the super thin plasma makes this TV look like it is an LCD/LED TV. There are no Smart TV features, web browsers, Wi-Fi, or 3D. I live out in the country and don't have access to cable TV or internet, so most of these features would not do me any good.

The remote control is functional, but I have not really used it since I initially set up the TV. I use the Direct TV remote for regular viewing.

Some minor shortcomings: there are only 2 HDMI ports on the back of the TV. The "Smart TV's" have 3 or 4 HDMI ports - which is better, but more expensive. The sound quality is good for normal TV viewing and I have no complaints for that, however, I see that other people have complained about the sound. If you are watching a loud action movie and have the sound cranked up, the speakers are OK, not great. I am not too worried about this because if I am watching a DVD movie, I run the sound thru my stereo/surround speakers. There is screen glare, but I watch the TV 90% of the time at night, so it is really not an issue for me.

I've had this for about 3 weeks now and I have no complaints. I looked up plenty of reviews and did serious comparisons between LED and plasma before making the decision to purchase this model. The picture quality is excellent and the super thin plasma makes this tv look as good as most LEDs style-wise.

To be clear, this is a bare bones TV. There are no Smart TV features or wifi, and the remote control is very functional, but doesnt have neat ergonomics that you may see on other higher end models. But, for the price, this is an excellent value if you want top picture quality without paying for extra features that you may not even need. In my case, smart tv and wifi are unnecessary since I have an xbox with those features hooked up to it.

Some downsides that led to me giving this 4 stars instead of 5: there is pretty substantial screen glare that makes viewing in sunlight very difficult. More importantly, there are only 2 HDMI ports. While there are ways to add more devices using splitters for under $50, its a hassle and requires more wires hanging out. With many new larger TVs having 3-4 HDMI ports, this is definitely a shortcoming. Lastly, I was not aware of this beforehand, but apparently plasmas have a buzzing sound when turned on. While it was very noticeable at first, you get used to it pretty quickly and now it rarely bothers me. As for burn in on plasma TVs, I haven't noticed anything so far, and I've been quite laissez faire about the types of static images left on screen.

I use the TV in basement without windows for minimum glare.The picture is great, the sound is pretty good too. Good value provided it will last a few years.
