Great picture and the controversial touchscreen controller is the cat's meow once you get used to it. Simple, effective and uncluttered. You spend your time controlling not trying to find the buttons to get control. Others don't like it but I do. I have a manual controller but I prefer the touchscreen controller that comes with the unit.

I like the picture quality, fast loading time, but the remote does take time to learn. If there is a choice I would prefer the conventional remote with buttons.

This is my 4th BD player in 15 months, and it's the only one so far that seems to do everything right.

Wireless streaming is pretty much flawless. No problems with Netflix, Hulu Plus, or Amazon Instant. I mean none. No rebuffers, no dropped connections, nothing. This is a huge difference from my other three players, each of which had some major streaming issue.

Disc playback quality is excellent. Blu Ray is about as good as it gets. The DVD picture is surprisingly good -- excellent upconversion with no visible artifacts and low noise.

The only thing that is a slight drawback is the touchpad remote. It too frequently misses or misinterprets gestures. Also, because it is touchpad based, you can't teach most of its commands to a universal remote. However, all is not lost, because the remote codes from last year's Panasonic BD players work just fine. So you can use these with a universal remote to get most of the commands that the current remote has, and even a few useful ones it doesn't (like Eject and discrete On and Off).

I should point out that I don't do DLNA or USB-based streaming, so I can't comment on that.

Final word: I haven't been this pleased with a piece of home video gear in ages.
