After reading all the negative reviews, I can't figure out why anyone would knock this product! In regards to set up, it's virtually idiot-proof. Everything is self-explanatory and the only set up is putting one screw in the top handle. You simply select "Wash" or "Rinse" and you ready to go. If anyone experienced a broken cleaner, they didn't read the instructions properly. I have white carpets all throughout my home and wanted something that would really brighten them up (as I've lived here about 5 years) This cleaner WOW'ed my and exceeded my expectations on what a carpet shampooer could do. The water from the tank was so dirty and almost black; it was great to see all the debris it picked up. Carpets smelled fresh and for a shampooer, wasnt overly heavy. My carpets were completely dry within a few hours. I would recommend this product to family and friends and can always count on Hoover for a great, reliable product.

We previously owned an earlier Hoover Steam Carpet cleaner, and was extremely happy. However, I did my research to find the best brand/model/price that would do the cleaning in our home, and I was set to buy a different brand/model. My husband's research determined this model was an overall better deal with better reviews, so I went with the Hoover. The first month and a half, it worked great, had no complaints. However, my opinion did not last. First, was the fact that as soon as I used the stair hose assembly, everything went south. I noticed that even while using the cleaner for carpet floor cleaning, the hose was continually leaking even when not in use. Second, the whole unit dirty/clean water holding tanks would not stop leaking, meaning that no matter what if I stopped to empty or refill any holding tank, I had to remove everything, because otherwise I would come back to the machine with a huge puddle underneath unit, bad seals? Third, the quality/design of the hose system is the cheapest I have ever seen, and it leaks, sprayer portion continues to spray leak all the time. Fourth, The overall workmanship of actually cleaning/ suctioning went from a 9 (out of ten) to 3 after the 1st month and a half of ownership (approximately 1 complete carpet cleaning and 2 spot cleanings). Conclusion: Hoover manufacture and design needs to use better materials for manufacturing the unit, offer solutions resolving the major issue's of consumers that own this model, as in recall/updates that improve product and customer satisfaction.

Extraction wanting

By

from Oregon, USA

Comments about Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaning Upright Vacuum:

The carpets will be cleaner when you're finished than when you began. However, do not expect great extraction of dirty water: I measured what went down and what came up. For every gallon down, only 2 cups were extracted. For me this means I can never use this machine in the winter, only in hot summer with all windows open and fans going. I suggest you wear earplugs while running the machine. The brushes are quite difficult to clean: it takes me about an hour, I have to tease out all the polypro rug whispers with a fine tooth comb, then a toothpick. I do clean the tanks between each refill, and all the other machine bits except the brushes. They are cleaned halfway through the job. I cleaned my bedroom carpet last summer: half, let it dry 3 days before setting furniture on, then the other half, with three days to dry. Because the machine has a heater, the top of the carpet will seem drier than the deep part and padding, so don't be fooled: nearly a gallon of water is still in that carpet. Until it dries completely, putting any furniture back on it invites mold. The single advantage this machine has over having a professional cleaning is timing for moving furniture. best--

Super effective machine!

Comments about Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaning Upright Vacuum:

This is my 2nd Hoover rug shampoo unit. Last one lasted 6 yrs (Platinum model). I love my new unit....runs perfect and has great suction to remove water. I kind of wish it had a second set of cleaning brushes like my old machine...but this would not deter my recommending this machine to anyone. Excellent quality and I hope to use it for +5 years. Hand Washing near perfected by Hoover

By

from Fremont, CA, United States

Comments about Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaning Upright Vacuum:

The Max Extract cleaner from Hoover does a near perfect job of emulating a hand washing process by immersing the carpet or soap in their soap solution first, giving it a through wash with the brushing action, rinsing with water to get rid of the soap and then finally allowing drying by sucking up the remaining water in the carpet. It does take some effort to get the job done as with the water and soap filled in and the dirty water tank also getting filled up as the machine is used, the whole thing gets heavier with time until you drain the dirty water tank out. Over several hours of use, this results in a lot of hard work. The results are in most cases good I would say as there were spots that did not get removed with 2 uses of this machine over them with pre-treatment as suggested in the manual. That is why I would give it 4 stars. To improve it, I suggest the following: 1. Make the handle to hold more comfortable to take away some of the fatigue while using it over long durations 2. Consider adding motorized wheels (of course it will come with extra cost and weight) to allow a more effortless use for large areas. The usage of the motor could be controlled in a manner similar to the discharge of soap with a button in the handle. 3. This is a nice to have - if there is a way to measure the area of carpet cleaned by the machine during each session, it would be positive feedback for the person using it and a great source of motivation. 4. I understand that this may have been considered in the design already but consider lower weight of the overall machine if possible to make it even more user friendly.

I have 2 new puppies and this cleaner is helping me keep my sanity during the training process. My only caution is to use the trigger conservatively so that your rugs will dry quickly.

Cleans Great! No problems For ~ 2 Yrs

By

from Philadelphia, PA, United States

Comments about Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaning Upright Vacuum:

Cleans great. I purchased my unit in March of 2015. Now, it's pretty loud. I don't remember it being that loud when I bought it. It's loud enough for me to wear earplugs. I just put it in the shop today, Dec 9, 2016 for a malfunctioning turbine which causes the brushes to stop spinning. Yesterday was my 2nd time of using it to do my whole house. I usually use it to do spot cleanings (~ 5 ). Obviously, this doesn't happen on every model and no product is perfect but fortunately, Hoover stands by their product and gives you a great 2 yr warranty so you're covered. For the money paid, I didn't go wrong. And the warranty is awesome!

Terrible product

By

from Birmingham, AL, United States

Comments about Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaning Upright Vacuum:

I have owned Hoover products and this is the 3rd carpet cleaner I've owned in my adult life. The inserts for brushes on this machine are made of plastic and will break very easily. I used it twice and had to replace the brushes and used it one time with the new brushes and now they are broken again. This product is poorly made! I will not buy another one.

I loved it the first few times I used it. I had it few years now. I remember taking it to service center to get it fixed took them a month and it is still not sucking up the water. What was the point of taking it to get service. It does work good carpet looks good especially with kids and the spills and high traffic exchange areas. For some odd reason it stop suck up the dirty water
