* Stainless finish is sharp and does not show fingerprints* Bottom freezer is super convenient. You will not inspect the freezer as frequently as the refridgerator, so keep the freezer on the bottom.* French doors allow you some flexibility as to where to orient the unit.* It's on the small side. This unit fits perfectly in my tiny condo kitchenThe best surprise this refridgerator had was it's shelving configurations. You can fold the upper shelf in half to make room for taller objects. There is also a shallow, bottom drawer which is designed for dairy products and cut meats. I really dug this feature because it forced me into organizing my refridgerator. The shelves on the doors hold all of my beer and a one-gallon milk jug.Altogether, this is a great unit.

We bought last September and were very excited at the time -- it was the first time we'd ever been able to afford a new fridge.Sadly, we have received shockingly poor service. The first fridge arrived with scratches. We sent it back. The second fridge arrived -- with scratches on all the doors! Our complaints got us a service call from the local contractor who handles Whirlpool accounts. He noted that the doors were scratched and recommended replacement. (Within an hour of his leaving, the fridge quit working but that was a small glitch that a reset fixed). We were then more than a month into the problems. Repeated calls to Whirlpool by us were rebuffed. The local contractor had to call to even get them to agree to replaced the doors!Well, guess what? Three months later, we still hadn't heard anything. Fed up, we called and asked for our money back. Whirlpool refused, and wouldn't commit to a date to have the doors replaced. It is now June -- NINE MONTHS since we purchased -- and we have just now received a call from the local contractor stating that the doors are here. We are beyond dissatisfied, and have made a point to tell this story to everyone we know. I cannot believe the Whirlpool brand has come to this. Needless to say, we have agreed to never consider buying any of their products again -- not even when we finish buying our new home.

What a mess
from Salina KS
So, freezer new in Nov '13. I don't know how long ago it started freezing up. I called whirlpool (hereafter abbreviated icw) and no, they couldn't help, but would I like to schedule a repair at my cost? Got on the net and found it is a big problem with literally 100s of models of whirlpool. Icw, any recalls, no. Got on the net and found the 100s of models with service bulletins for the same problem. Icw, nope, yours isn't on the list. Got on the net and see there are update kits for the same problem. Icw, you'll need the part number. Icw back, forget the part number, find it anyway; certainly sir. Nope, no update kit for your model number. Icw again after talking with my wife to see how much to repair. They couldn't tell me. Got on the net, warranty available, call for info. Icw, 300-400 bucks, one year. Forget that. Got on the net, fix it yourself. Removed the freezer door, removed the racks, removed the ice maker, removed the fan cover, removed the inside back of the freezer. Cut hand bigtime. Remove outside back of freezer ($2k freezer and it's CARDBOARD!) Unplug drain line ...ooops, not plugged. Move all food somewhere else. Glue hand. Take hairdryer and thaw ice. Accidentally melt fan cover. Reglue hand. Remelt cover bend into usable but butt-ugly shape. Clean up blood. Put EVERYTHING back together, only two screws leftover. Nothing wrong found with freezer other than bad design. Mop floor. Reglue hand.

Lots of room!!

Love the french doors and the flexibility with shelf placement! Tons of room in the fridge and a good bit of room in the freezer too!
This refrigerator is great for our space!
from Gastonia, NC
This is the refrigerator our contrator chose based on our space and our request. It is a great one for our space. Access to the ice section is well placed and shelf modifications help us to design the interior to suit our needs. Thanks for a great product!

I bought mine a few months ago and love it! I have lots of room in the refrigerator for everything I need. The only thing I miss from my other one is the crushed ice feature. Other than that I am completely satisfied with the looks of it and the space.

Limited Shelf Space & Moisture Requirements
from Gatlinburg, TN
The double doors on this unit are unusually far apart with a fold in the center. Perhaps this is why they built in an area for two different types of moisture rid packets that the owner must replace periodically for a costly sum. We had little choice of selections due to limited space in the kitchen and I wanted a refrigerator with the freezer at the bottom. It also cost us $800+ more than one similar that was much larger! Supply and demand we were told made it cost more. I think that's a ripoff to folks who have no other choice with limited space. Not every home today has a huge, open kitchen! The shelf space in this unit is also limited for tall items such as milk or anything taller than a ketchup bottle. After paying a hefty sum, we just have to live with it or remodel the cabinets and counter top, which is not in our budget. Hopefully, the things I hear about Whirlpool products will help with some satisfaction. Just disappointed that we had to pay MORE for LESS space.
Small but big
from Bethany Beach, DE
This was purchased about a month ago to replace an aging side by side. It's hard to tell how well it will do going forward, but thus far all is well. I like the interior water filter (rather than being on the ground level). We got this fridge to fit in a small area, but the useful space is ample.
Nice for small spaces
from Wilkes-Barre, PA
We were looking to upgrade the refrigerator in our new home but were severely limited in our options due to the design of the kitchen. One must on our list was a refrigerator with an external water dispenser, and this whirlpool model was the only one we were able to find that met that criteria and that would fit in a 30" space. We've had the refrigerator for a few weeks now and so far so good!
