This was the only french door refrigerator that was not too tall and fit in a standard refrigerator space that we could find. Overall we like the french door design because visibility is improved in the refrigerator portion. I wish the freezer drawer divider was adjustable. It is a fixed configuration that will not accommodate wide items in the freezer. The other thing I really hate is the shelves are full width and very difficult to remove to clean. The shelves are so tight they hardly fit through the fully open doors and only with a great deal of effort. The drop shelf is virtually useless as it is the only interior space for tall items (ie gallon of milk/beverage pitcher). The drop is basically is a waste of space for the items trying to fit underneath the partial shelf. I really wish the shelving was more adjustable for tall items. It is really hard to fit everything in that I easily used to fit in my old standard top freezer model that had less cubit square space than this new one.

I bought this refrigerator to fit in a small area of the kitchen. After delivery, I noticed that the LED panel and lights were not working. I had to have someone service the refrigerator and they found that the factory had failed to connect the power cabling running to the panels and lights. No big deal. Not a week later and after going on a trip for two days, I came back to discover that the refrigerator was no longer cooling and the freezer was completely defrosted. I had to pitch all of my food. Once again, I had to call to get the refrigerator serviced. There was now a leak on the evaporator and the refrigerant had spilled into the unit. A week later, a technician came out to fix the leak. Two days after the repair, the same thing happened again. There was another leak on the evaporator. Whirlpool refused to give a refund for the refrigerator or send out a new unit unless it was deemed "unrepairable". Furthermore, there was no compensation for all of the food I had lost during this time period. I had to complain enough to get an extended warranty for 6 months. This part of the refrigerator is what actually cools the air and it was leaking within a month of purchase. It was finally serviced again and seems to be working now.TL;DR - Whirlpool's quality is god awful and their customer service even worse. I'm sure this refrigerator will spring another leak within 6 months.

Temperature Problem Refrigerator
Comments about Whirlpool 30" Black French Door Refrigerator:
It is too early to write a review at this time, as No solution has been performed. The serviceman saw my problem and said he believes it is a part he does not have on hand and must order a"Temperature Sensor". When it comes in I will receive a call anbd an appointment will be made to replace part.Hopefully this will be the solution.

Great compact refrigerator
from Greenville, RI
I was adamant that I was going to get a french door refrigerator but we had a small space for it. Was so happy we kept looking and found this. Love it!!! I love that the door makes a sound when you leave it open, I love the design, it's a really modern, sleek fridge. Very happy with our purchase so far.

30-inch wide French Door Refrigerator
from Boiling Springs, SC
Purchased as a replacement for a 20 yr old Kenmore (Whirlpool?) side by side that more or less died. I was so happy to find a French Door unit small enough to fit in the area where my 20 yr old refrigerator resided. I've only had it a week but it is working fine. First thought after loading the refrigerator was how great it was to be able to have all the perishable food at eye level and not hidden from view. Another plus is not having the ice cube access feature in the door. I much prefer the larger ice bin in the freezer door.

I've had my fridge for a couple weeks now. I like it a lot. The only problem I have with it is the placement of the shelves. There isn't a lot of room for movement of them which means there is only one small spot to put tall things and this is where the shelf slides back. I love the freezer drawer. But storage is definitely limited in the fridge section, I had to shift everything around to put my crock pot in so I had to lay my drinks down so they would fit.

So far so good! Just got it December 28th
Small but not too small. Other problems though

I love my fridge. Even though it's tiny it gets the job done. The only problem I have is the water dispenser. It constantly grows mold/mildew and I have to clean it with q-tips. I probably wouldn't by the same brand for that exact reason.

I bought this frig 5 months ago. The main feature of the freezer on the bottom, with plastic freezer bins instead of wire, was a selling point and has been nice. However, it has taken sometime to get used to having to close the one side of the French doors first to lock it into the track. If you have company over and they do not close it properly the door stays open. Had to have one service call, under warranty. Water leaking on floor caused by a piece of packaging styrofoam that apparently got stuck in drain. No problem since.
Better than expected

I am very happy with this Whirlpool. It is physically the same size as my old appliance but there is much more space inside. It is also very quiet. I enjoy having a modern looking fridge in my old fashioned kitchen. I also purchased a Whirlpool stove a few weeks earlier and the total look is awesome.

This fridge replaced troublesome Samsung fridge (4 years old). It has more usable space and has a smaller foot print and fit our space like a glove. Only minor problem is the left crisper drawer sticks occasionally.
