I love the fact that this stove has five burners, but I am still not able to wrap my brain around the fact that there is no burner small enough to use a small saucepan! Since the burners will not stay on if the pan is not the right size...I consider this a real "con" in it's design!Unless I am missing something in the manual, I see no way around this issue and what would have otherwise been a stellar review, gets less that five stars for this reason alone!

We are enjoying our induction cooktop, but at times there is a noise when heating that is odd. And our small pots will not work since they do not cover enough surface area of the burner to activate it, which is frustrating when you buy a large set of pots only to discover you are unable to utilize one of the frequently used sizes.

Not worth the money...Very Fragile
from Tipton, IN
Comments about KitchenAid 36" Stainless Steel Induction Cooktop:
This product is very fragile. Had a chip on the very edge and after 6 months a crack appeared making the item useless. I typically do not write reviews but we paid a lot of money for this product and when we called Customer Service, the person explained that they do not have service technicians in our area. So basically since we are still in our warranty timeframe we cannot get it serviced. Also that there are no replacement parts for these so we would need to purchase a new unit.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Fast! Easy to install!
from Tampa, FL
I replaced a 36 inch GE Profile cooktop with the KitchenAid induction cooktop. The installation was easier than I thought. This is much better than the radiant electric type. It is so fast at heating and the temperature settings are so precise it is a joy to use. You especially notice how quickly the heat drops when you turn it down from a high setting to low or simmer.

Induction, new but nice technology

We initially had tried our standard pots and pans not realizing that we needed induction ready cook ware. Once we solved this problem we were amazed at how quickly it heated things up and how safe it is to use with children around.

I have used electric cooktops for 55 years, and love the way this one goes from boil to simmer fast. Great attribute.

I bought this stove top in April, received it in June..I would never go back to the standard stove top..This induction is the best..You cook with such even heat and everything is much better..very energy sufficient.Just love it..Suggest everyone to get one..
Mother board has broke 4 times in four years

We have been without a stovetop this time going on 3 weeks. Still waiting on our Kitchenaid warranty to do something about it. It cooks great when it does cook, but a nightmare trying to get it fixed all of the time.

I love my new cooktop. Beautiful and so fast!
I bought this for my new condo. It's a great cooktop, esp, if you are used to induction which is a great invention. It wipes clean, changes temp at the touch of a button (not more leaning over to check flame level). Sleek look. As good as another one I owned in my previous home at almost twice the price.

I loved it, right up until the glass was cracked
This was a great cooktop, until I had the misfortune of cracking the glass. Good ratings overall, but 1 star for quality not because it is poorly made, but because it can't be maintained. It appears that Kitchenaid is not capable of providing a replacement part (I've waited 7 weeks and the part remains on indefinite back order). So be warned, the cooktop will be great right up until something goes wrong -- and then it will be a very expensive countertop.
