GE White Top Load Washer - GTWP1800DWW

This washer holds lots of clothes and cleans well. We are very happy with it. The only negitive I have found is the timer does not stop if you leave the lid open. It will fill and go through the cycles, with no motion or spinning. You are left with a heap of wet clothes and wasted detergent.

I searched high and low for a washing machine without lid-lock. Our 14+ year old Amana finally broke down, and I wanted to replace it with something similar. This is perfect. You select the load size, the water temperature, and you're good to go. I can't stand lid-lock, and this does not have it, so you can actually open the lid to put in an item you forgot, add soap while the water fills, or check to make sure the washer is actually working properly during a cycle. They cycle is quick, my clothes have come out very clean, and the washer is located in our basement, and I usually have to go down and listen to be sure it is still running, so its quiet, at least for a basement. Great price too. I have 2 young kids, so I do at least one load a day, sometimes 2.

ABT delivery was great, on time, and it took about 10 minutes for them to remove my old machine and hook up the new one.

We use this daily and it's amazing how quiet it is, that we have to check a few times to see if it's done washing!

First, the printed & visual directions inside the lid don't jibe with the sizes on the dials. It seems to be bigger capacity than my old Maytag, but it's very hard to know how much liquid soap to put in and my old one had a supersize which seems to be the same as this one's "large load", so maybe there isn't as much difference as there seems.
Also, when I take the clothes out they still seem wet. It's hard to really judge that; the dryer takes care of it, of course, but my old washer left the clothes dryer so of course they took less time (and energy) to really dry!

We love this washer. Two minor annoyances, when it's washing it has a sound like a bird makes (a kind of cooing, not chirping) as it agitates, and it doesn't have an end of cycle chime. We replaced a high efficiency Samsung front loading washer with this one and couldn't be happier! We love how it gets the clothes clean!

Bought this washer to replace a Magtag Neptune. I like this one better. Cleans well, easy to use, half the price.

We have three kids....and lots of laundry and not lots of money. So this was the best reviewed of the cheaper models available. It has a large capacity and is very quiet plus gets the job done fast and doesn't have a bunch of complicated controls. Perfect for us. Only thing I wish is that the spin cycle got the clothes a little dryer so the dryer wouldn't have to run as long.

Perfect service and delivery. I will always buy from ABT after this purchase. I had a Maytag before this and it broke in less than 2 years. This one is basic... not much to break. I love that it doesnt even have a lid lock. Great for throwing in that sock that dropped after the cycle started.
