I've always purchased gas stoves, ranges and ovens, and always had lots of heat loss in the ovens. I love the immediate on/off of the heat for the range, but had to compensate in every instance for the heat loss in the ovens.I would have tried gas range (built-in) and an electric oven this time, but then decided to give this range/oven a chance when the salesman described the oven - no heat loss and five shelf settings. This has to be one of the best choices I've made in appliances. I have recommended this to friends, and some have purchased the same kind with other options than I chose. The fast heating burners and true to temperature oven make this the best I've ever had or used by far.Excellent product, and I couldn't recommend it more highly. Thanks you for it!

I like the electronic controls, for the most part.I regularly check my oven with a thermometer, and as you get near the top of the oven, the temp is significantly higher than the middle part: 25-50 degrees higher. So the only real place to cook is directly in the middle. Even the real old oven models didn't have that much variance. The large oven portion means you can cook several dishes at once. The stove top burners (FINALLY!) have been made sealed off to the underside, thus preventing liquids from building up inside. This model also has different size burners-from a very small one for light duty to one gigantic burner for big pans and/or big jobs.My one complaint is when you pre-heat the oven and start the timer, the timer will turn the oven off when it's finished. I'm sure there must be a way to disconnect the two functions but I haven't figured it out yet.

new with house

This appliance came with the house. The super low burner is not low enough, even rice burns while simmering.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

When my old stove stopped working correctly, I was hoping it could be fixed. I am now ever so happy it could not. I do a lot of baking and hod no idea how much better my baked goods would be out of a new oven. Hy bread and cookies bake faster and prettier than they did in the old one. The top units cook hotter than I'm used to but am getting comfortable with them. Am beyond happy with my new stove. I only wis the bottom drawer were a little deeper so as to hold my pots and pans.
Worst oven I've ever owned
from Central Coast, CA
Build quality is abysmal. Stripped screws throughout. Controls make no sense. IE, the timer "prompts" you when you press the wrong button. You have to press "start" Every other digital stove I've had you just press the time button, it's annoying. It's constantly beeping at me. Setting the clock, timer, cook times is ridiculous, you can only go up and down and the increment speeds up, Just when you get close to where you want it jumps several hours instead of minutes. Turning the timer off in the middle of cooking also turns off the oven. I've ruined a few meals because of this. The blue readout is unpleasant. The knobs are dangerously easy to inadvertently turn on. A simple oven like this shouldn't have such complicated controls. I've walked into a "gassed" kitchen more than once. The storage drawer (huge factor in choosing this), flops all over the place and never goes back easily.I converted from NG to LP, tedious job. 6 total orifices & a pressure regulator. Practically have to take apart the stove to do it. My previous Magic Chef took 3 minutes to convert and you didn't have to take apart anything. Clearly this is a VERY old design which has been gussied up and cheapened up. Say's made in USA, but I suspect that's a stretch of legal semantics. Rotten engineering made me very sorry buying this. On a positive note, the heavy cast iron grates are a plus, but their one way fit is inconvenient. Walking into a friend's house and seeing their Amana that looked 90% similar made me question my allegiance to Whirlpool too.

My favorite appliance

I am so stoked on this stove! The oven heats up faster than any other oven that I have used. the quality is excellent. All of the burners have variable heat to the highest and smallest degree. It never loses the flame.
