This Oven/Range makes my baking/cooking seem like i took professional lessons

Love our new Whirlpool Oven/Range (and over-range Microwave)! Not only are they beautiful in my newly remodeled kitchen, but they also work better than i'd expected. I read a few reviews online and found some comments about the beeping noises being too loud, like when the oven temperature has reached its temp after warming, or the microwave final beep sounds. I found that my new Whirlpool appliances worked perfectly fine and was not too loud at all (well maybe if you're trying to tiptoe through and not wake up anyone in a near by bedroom, i on the other hand do expect the sounds to alert me and not be low whispers). As for the cooking/baking power, my meals suddenly seemed perfectly timed and perfectly cooked/baked through on the right temperatures, yielding the right textures and all. Our old oven/range didn't seem to cause problems, until i now compare it to these new additions in my life. The Thanksgiving Turkey cooked through thoroughly and there was no guessing about when the oven reached its correct temperature from the initial warming. the timer is awesome and so are the light functions to see everything clearly. The fan power on the over-range microwave and light function has two levels so if one is too noisy or too bright for you, you still have a lighter option. Also there's a bottom storage drawer that i make sure is empty before baking (read some reviews where ppl stored pans and the handles melted, i only store glass bakeware there but still I empty it out for good measure). The burners are great and perfect with two large and two medium (or small depending on how you see it). Also i did not find that the grates were too heavy as i'd read in other reviews. We're absolutely Loving every inch of our new Whirlpools. Being in the kitchen is fun again :-)

Background: I cook and bake a LOT, and prefer appliances with less electronics, so that is my bias. Our last gas range was pretty basic, and did all the things I need well, which involves cooking, baking, and canning. When it was aging and needed repairs, we decided to replace, and wanted something similar. Some features we like (dial operations for oven) are not really available any more. Also a preference was for a top broiler, which this model has (though I have not used it very much after all). Upsides: Oven heats quickly, seems accurate (bake-wise) and burners are powerful (almost too much, see below). It looks nice, the window is large. Storage drawer underneath is useful, and the broiler is convenient. Downsides: Operational design is irritating/awkward: when the timer goes off if you hit "cancel" it turns off the oven--and then you have to re-set everything. (You have to hit "timer" to just cancel the timer) After many months of use we still do this all the time, it's just not intuitive. The grey cast-iron grates are very difficult to clean and show stains immediately (I wish they were just black). The burner parts do not come off (just the tops) so it is difficult to clean around them. I have trouble simmering with the burners turned all the way down, I pretty much have to use the tiny simmer burner for everything. The BTUs on the high burner are so high it's not recommended for pressure canning (I use a regular burner for this, which is fine). Nit picky stuff: the blue clock light is really bright and hard to read. You also can't switch to clock display while the time is on (you can see it, but it reverts to the timer after a few seconds). We've had a few issues where the oven turned off immediately after lighting. It was intermittent enough that we didn't call for service and seems to have resolved on it's own, but I worry it may not be reliable long-term. All in all: Despite being a higher-end user I never felt like I needed to get a high-end range/stove, and was perfectly happy with my last stove for 12 years, but this range makes me want to save up, do some research, and get something really good next time.

We compared several makes and models. This unit is the best combination we could find of value and features - what you would call the best bang for your buck. The three features that stand out for us are the Accusimmer setting that allows you to simmer at a very low temperature, the Power Burner setting that allows you boil very quickly, and the alarm that notifies you when the oven has been pre-heated to your desired temperature. We are very pleased with our purchase.

I really like the 3rd rack, makes Thanksgiving dinner much easier. Preheats quickly. The 5-burners are good, it took a while to get used to the BTU power of them, have to cook some things on the "simmer burner" only, can turn the other burners down low enough

We needed a new stove all of a sudden, and price was a real issue. A review of the literature led us to this model, but what really was how easy it was to jump right in and install and use it. It's astonishing just how much better cooking is now.
