This stove has a lot of great new features that I have not had before. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to use them all yet! I love the rapid preheat function and the various burner sizes. Stovetop cooking is a breeze! It comes with a stovetop griddle that I have used over and over. The few things that I have baked have come out perfectly done. I am very happy with this stove.

If you think heating water to 200 degrees will clean your oven, you would be wrong. That's all the self clean feature does, and it doesn't work. I took the advice in the user guide and use a Magic Eraser to clean the oven. The only thing that works but not exactly self-cleaning. Also, the burners do NOT adjust smoothly or evenly.

Comments about Whirlpool Stainless Freestanding Gas Range:
I have been using the range for 2 months and I love it. The preheating & rapid preheat settings are great along with the option of the Convect. In the past I would usually burn the bread and for the past 2 months no burnt bread...

Broiler did not work when delivered
from Big bear lake, CA
Whirlpool sent a repair man within a week, it was a wire that never was attached at the factory. The grates are very heavy and must be removed after every time you cook in order to wipe the surface clean. So new, I don't know if I love it yet.
Cooking with Gas!
from Paris, ON
We purchased this, our first gas stove, a month ago. Not only does it look sharp in our recently renovated kitchen, it is awesome to cook on. It starts easily and; has our meals cooking in no time. Who would have ever thought one could be so excited over a stove. Both my wife and I not only like to look at it (looks like a piece of art in our kitchen); but we both are taking every opportunity to cook on it.

I purchased this Gas Range 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. Its beautiful, easy to clean and cooks great.

Have had this stove for several months, professionally installed. The top burners are great: Easy and accurate temperature control and easily cleaned. The oven has taken some getting used to as it doesn't seem to heat very evenly when not using the convection function and the broiler is difficult to use. I am willing to blame this on my inexperience with gas ovens and it having a larger interior space. My only complaint would be that the oven must not be well insulated as it heats up the exterior surfaces quickly and throws more heat into the room than my old oven did.
Okay gas range

Decent enough basic stove and oven unit. The front of the unit tends to get hot. The burners and grates on top are excellent. The oven is average. The appearance is quite good from a distance (we have the aluminum) but on closer examination it looks a bit flimsy.

Dissappointed- Do not buy!
from Nicholasville, KY
I purchased this range in June of 2013 for my home that was under construction and due to be completed in September of that year. Unfortunately my house was not completed until much later and I did not move in till January of 2014. So stove was 6 monthes old before it was used the 1st time. When the oven had been used for about 6 monthes it started shutting itself off. The panel would show the temperature as what it was set at so I had no idea until I went to remove my cold uncooked food. This happened periodically until March of 2015 when the electronic control board went out completely. I had it replaced the following month and thought it was an isolated incident until this week when it has started shutting itself off again. For the price of the service call and the part I could have purchased a new stove that would still be functioning correctly.
A Competent Range
from DC Metro
This came as part of new construction. It's fine. Pros: decent burners with good output, oven works, well..like an oven. Cons: given the width, using the fifth burner means you can't use the others. The cook top grates are surprisingly rough, making them difficult to clean. They tear up sponges - a brush is the only thing that cleans without leaving debris behind. And, for a stainless steel appliance, using black metal for the cooktop was a really cheap move. Black is impossible to keep clean, no matter how fanatical one is. Stainless would have been a much smarter move. I would not buy for that reason alone, will likely swap this unit out.
Good and Okay

I really like to cook and this stove works well. I fine the power burn heats up your pans quickly but is very hard to control the heat when trying to saute. Even when it is on low it is too hot. There isn't enough room on the back burner to move it there for a slow simmer when using a medium to large pot. Maybe adding a simmer in the centre of the front burner would be a better idea. The oven is large. The racks are difficult to move and bend when using either a large pan or several pans which tend to make the racks even more difficult to move. I'm finding that the rapid reheat takes longer to heat the oven than the regular heating cycle. Once the oven is hot everything seems to be working good. The timer is used a lot and there are to many steps to setting it. The top surface of the stove is easy to keep clean. Spills wipe up easily. I would really like it is someone could come up with a stove at a reasonable price that will fit 4, 12 inch pans evenly centered over every burner. Haven't used the 5th burner in the centre yet.

Not a good appliance
from waterloo, il
This has got to be the worst appliance I have ever bought. About 2/3 of the time the over will not light. My wife has become so mad at this stove. Local dealer says it has a know defect. Been 6 weeks and still no parts. Not sure who is worse, the dealer or whirlpool
