Just recently had the Whirlpool Single Self-Cleaning Oven with the extra large window installed in our new kitchen. I love the design of the oven and the extra large window on the oven door. However, I am very disappointed with the noise level that the oven makes from the time you turn the oven on until the time that the oven has completely cooled down and shuts off. If the oven fan cannot be adjusted to lower the noise level, I am considering returning and reinstalling my old oven. I also worry about the heat that is generated from the oven and out onto the bottom of the floor. Instead of Whirlpool improving on oven features, they have gotten worse. I would recommend this product only if the noise level can be imporved upon.

Just finished installing this. Had to cut nearly the entire face frame from an expensive 30" oven cabinet to shoe horn the oven in. The oven is on the end of an island, so the side of the door is visable ..and it looks like junk. The ends of the Stainless Steel door are industrial looking black painted steel with Phillips head screws showing. All of our other stainless appliances (another range, compactor, and dishwasher) have the stainless face wrapping around the ends so they are finished. This was the very last step in our new expensive kitchen remodel, and the ugly oven door end spoils the whole look. The door end looks like an unfinished afterthought ! If you are installing this thing in an end cabinet, choose another brand. I am astounded that at the very lease, Whirlpool does not offer an optional trim piece for this.

I really wish I could give this a zero star rating. I won't even talk about the fan noise (although, in the future, please design the fan and flow features to match the openings - it might cut down on the whistling). We have had issues with this thing (hesitate to call it an oven) keeping temperature. We noticed differences of 20-30 degrees in usage. The technician just came by and ran his tests. He was curious and called Whirlpool. He was told a 25-30 degree difference is expected. So, if you set it for 150, it can run as high as 380 or as low as 320 and Whirlpool says it is designed to do this. Also, when the pre-heat timer goes off, the thing is not ready for usage. You must wait another 10-15 minutes before use. The timer is really a timer, just a ding to let you know the oven is running (besides the fan noise). This is also by design per Whirlpool CSR. This design makes no sense. Why would you even have a 'setting' if the device can go almost 10% in either direction. To justify this, they take high and low readings, then average and say the average is the basis. Kinda like if you got pulled over for speeding then told the cop..."but my average was 35, not the 50 you just saw me do". Really, Whirlpool, this is your position? You sell equipment that can't even keep within 5 degrees of a setting AND have a feature that doesn't function like a normal person is used to? Every other oven we have had or worked with (many years in professional kitchens) doesn't seem to have this issue.Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. Poor design and junk support. It is actually an unusable item - no serious baking can occur in this thing.
