GE White Top Load Washer - GTWN5450DWW

Great machine for the price. Numerous features and settings. Very quiet. Easy setup and installation. Very happy with the way sheets, towels, and garments are washed. They all come out very clean and nice. Not a huge issue, but my only complaint is that I wish the water lever was higher on the top setting, or that the machine had the capability of adding more water manually. But having researched alot of machines, most all have this water level issue. I still would purchase this machine.

I bought this machine three weeks ago and it was great - very quite but all the sudden it has started making this loud annoying banging noise during the agitation, it is the tub banging all over. I checked the balance and it is fine. Call to the dealer......

This washer is really great. It has an agitator and a stainless steel tub; you can over ride any of the settings and there is not a lock function that keeps you from adding clothes. It combines the best of the old and the new washers. I highly recommend it!

NEver NEver NEver purchase one of those washers that have that stupid ribbed wash plate at the bottom of the tub. Two weeks before we bought this washer, we had purchased a high end top loading machine without an agitator (the kind that has one of those stupid wash plates in the bottom of the tub). After running a load of very dirty jeans through 3 cycles with the first machine, the jeans were still dirty. WE called the dealer and immediately returned the machine. Then we purchased this machine with the agitator. It does a GREAT job of cleaning heavy soiled clothes. You can manually select to fill the tub with lots of water. Don't buy one of those machines that has a wash plate in the bottom of the tub, or that only uses a couple gallons of water to make the clothes wet. You need a full tub of water and an agitator with a top loading machine in order to get clothes clean. I would not even consider a front loader. They are a current fad, cost more and have the problem of traping moisture inside the unit due to no ventilation when the door is closed. This leads to bacteria forming inside the machine and causing a need to dis-infect and deodorize the front loading machines. Stick to a top loader for less money and better performance.
