Dyson DC40 Multi Floor Upright Vacuum Cleaner - DC40MULTIFLOOR

The attachment hose hides away nicely, but the brush/cushion tool is a nuisance. When I am trying to use the brush, any slight pressure causes it to slide back up, exposing the cushion tool.

I can't believe how much better this works than my previous vacuum. It's lightweight (good for bad backs), maneuvers well (great for bad backs), goes all directions on berber carpet (something my old vacuum wouldn't do), love how it adjusts from carpet to hard floor, it picks up dog hair, dirt, etc. Plus never have to buy another vacuum bag... or try to guess when it's full! I didn't realize how bad the old vacuum was until I used this one!!! Overall this is the best vacuum I've ever had... just wish the cord was about 10 feet longer!

I will admit, the vacuum does blow hot air from the vent on it. Have you ever owned a vacuum that does not blow hot air? I haven't. I have previously owned two Hoover vacuums and a Bissell Clean view I just purchased in February. The Hoover lasted just 4 years sweeping the floor once a week being a single male. I literally got this vacuum and swept the floor with my Bissell vacuum I purchased no more than 4 months ago. So I swept with the Bissell first and then I swept with the Dyson. I was SHOCKED!!! I couldn't believe how much dirt was left over in the carpet. I am being serious, you would not believe it unless you saw it. Literally the canister has 1/4- 1/2" of dirt left behind from the other vacuum. The ball technology design is a dream come true, talk about getting around everything. The coat rack, just glides right underneath and along the edges of furniture. It is amazing! I admit I thought Dyson vacuums were overpriced. My sister always says her 6 year old Dyson works like the day she got it. These vacuums are incredible. And no I don't work for Dyson, I wish I did! You will not regret this purchase, trust me, I rarely even leave product reviews!

I have had many vacuums..this is the best...best vacuum I have ever had in my life. I was afraid of spending the money, but I'm so glad I did, This vacuum is unbelievable. It picks up stuff in your carpet, you knew you never had. I keep vacuuming the same area and emptying the cannister and am always suprised (disgusted) as how much dirt and such comes out of the carpet!! It's really unbelievable. I purchased an oreck because I don't like heavy vacuums. It has a cannister bag, and we have two dogs, and every time I vacuumed...it filled the house with the wonderful scent of dogs, even though I would use the deoderizers and spray the bag with fabrize. I can empty the dyson cannistor every time I vacuume and no smell of anything. Can't say enough about the DC40....Love It!!!

I keep looking at adds to pick up a Dyson on sale. One thing that gets me with your vacuums is you will put out anything to make it seem you are getting something in the name at discount price. In my research you have DC40 Multi floor (yellow) on your website and you have a DC40 Animal (blue) out there on other websites but not yours. I find that maybe I was getting something better when it says Animal thinking better suction like your DC41 but no spec difference that I can see. So tell me why do you make product name DC40 animal when really it is not animal over the DC40 multi-floor. Is it just the color yellow over blue? For that matter I don’t see any better suction in blue over the yellow but you use the name animal thinking to the consumers they are getting the extra punch in suction in the animal name like your DC41? Keep it simple in your products, quiet trying to sell something that really does not existed.

I love the suction!! But the vacuum is VERY heavy considering that you need to pull and push it a million times, so i cannot vacuum both the levels of my house on the same day. Great duster but the hose is either too short or does NOT stretch well so you need a lot of strength to pull on it. And if you pull it too hard then the machine does not stay in upright position. All these does not make my cleaning any easier and faster. And that is exactly what I was looking for. Hope I can return it to the retailer I bought it from.

I was a Dyson user for several years until my oldest son moved away and took my Dyson with him! I decided to try out another brand that was highly rated. It performed well but I wasn't really happy with it. Last week I saw this machine on sale and decided to try it. It was amazing how much pet hair it picked up after I had just vaccumed with the other brand. Really is a much better machine and a lot easier to use.

We were absolutly amazed at what we picked up with the new Dyson. We had to empty the container several times with the first vacuuming..It was amazing. We have both carpet and tile and really like being able to use the same machine to do both. We have two large dogs who leave a log of hair on the floors and the Dyson seems to get it all. Strongly reccomended.

If it's possible to fall in love with a vacuum cleaner, then that's what this is! I have never used a sweeper quite like this...it's nothing short of amazing. I love love love the compact size. It is so lightweight and easy on my back. Not to mention that it picks up ALL of the dirt on my floors. I don't have to go over them more than once like I did with my old vacuum. Definitely worth the price.

Excellent suction, easy to use, but VERY disappointed in the cord length. 24' is not near long enough!
