Big Punch in a Little Package

This compact dryer packs a punch. It can sense how wet your clothes are, so it doesn't over dry. It replaced a larger dryer that was part of a one-piece stackable unit. While my old unit may have had a larger capacity, it was not very efficient. And I did not have as many choices on cycles. This unit gives me more space to move around in my laundry room and it is quieter than the old unit.If you do not have more than 3 people in your household, I would definitely recommend using this compact unit.

Because of the size of my laundry room, I had very limited options for my dryer. During its second drying cycle, the second day I had it, the heating element went out. Instead of replacing it, Maytag said they'd repair it. They sent someone out at the end of the week. A week later, the control panel went out. Now, I have to wait another week for the part to come in, and have to take another day off work. This dryer is junk and I won't dare to spend a dime on another Maytag in the future. I'd say how much I dislike the buzzer not being able to turn off, but I seldom here it since the mchine has been broken most of the time I've had it.

I got this washer less than a yr ago. It worked pretty good in the beginning, after awhile it started acting up. I'd load it up, put detergent, set on rapid wash and hit start. Then there's that delay. The door locked light is on, the draining/unlocking light is blinking, the wash is set for 30 mins, the start light is solid green, then the door locked light starts blinking. I open the door and close it to secure it and start the while process over. It takes me at least 45 mins to get this thing to start. Sometimes I just give up and try again the next day. I'm actually writing my review now because this is what I am going through now and it is frustrating.

timed drying cycle is for delicate clothes or for fluffing s
from pasadena florida
Bought the dryer and thought the timed cycles were not heating up.repairman replaced the sensor timer and the same thing happened no heatthen he discovered that on the time cycle it only heats 50 dgrees anywayrelatively useless unless you have a lot of silks etc.the other side of the dial is supposed to shut off We will see it didn't seem like it would... the repairman told me to load both the washer and dryer to the top and use only a tablespoon and 1/2 of non sudsing detergent

I have owned this for about two years. After one year, the moisture sensitive setting stopped working. Now, after 2 years, it does not work at all and will cost $700 to fix. This model is definitely not worthy of the maytag name - something that dies after two years is unacceptable.

Fits perfect in my small closet. Very simple straightforward unit works well.

I have been using this appliance for about a month. I am happy with it for the most part. Some fabrics come out quite wrinkled, even on iron or damp dry (used wrinkle control cycle on washer.
Solid Compact Machine
from San Francisco
Bought this a few months ago to replace a compact stacked unit by GE. The new Maytag unit is stackable but can also be used separately, which makes it MUCH easier to get in and out of a tight space. It has decent capacity for such a small machine and operates quietly. The switchgear feels a bit cheap, but it dries well.

Had nothing but problems with this dryer - had the service guy out many times and I think he replaced everything on the dryer that he could. Poor quality especially for a Maytag brand product. Bought it to put on my main floor as I can no longer go down to basement to do laundry
2nd New Dryer Not Working on Timed Dry. 3rd Dryer on the Way
By Dryer Nightmare

I bought Maytag because they promote themselves as "The Dependability People" and am so disappointed. Brand new dryer would not heat on the timed dry cycle. They replaced with another unit and it has the same issue. The other cycles heat fine so we know it's hooked up properly. Also, what is with a dryer having a separate power on/off switch? The retailer will not return the unit because it doesn't work so now I'm stuck with this dryer and just getting replacement after replacement. What a nightmare.
