First tivo product and I am hooked. Tivo is great for all the reasons that Tivo has always been great.
the reciever woks well as it is time tested hardware platform (HR24) with Tivo software.
Can't use Whole Home which seems unfair as they already charge you for the Tivo fee.
As I have 7 HD DVR's and 1 HMC DVR, I just let the Tivo software go and do all the work selecting all the recordings on this reciever, and program sieries on the other DVR's.
I need a seperate Tivo unit fro each member of my family to truly get a personal experience for each person. this is unrealistic for us as we watch all over the house and without the whole home feature it gets to complicated.
I do like it very much for just me in my room on my TV.
I did get a faulty reciever that failed in the first 24 hours, but that can happen from time to time with mass production electronics. I have the protection program from DirecTv so they swaped the unit out by express mail free of charge.
REMINDER, this is a leased reciever. Like leasing a car you are paying an up front cost to drive off the lot. the monthlky unit fee is a lease fee and the unit MUST bwe returned to DirecTv when you no longer subscribe. This is standard for all Directv recievers.
