I love my LG dishwasher, it has been a wonderful upgrade from prior GE Profile. The LG, can't be heard when running, in any cycle. I have used them all to test, so very happy with this, and notification bell when complete. The 3rd row is great, I wasn't sure if really needed, but I place all travel mug lids, tupper wear lids, and smaller items, and they remail in tack completely, no more falling to bottom and melting on the heating element. The top rack being adjustable has been an other added bonus, I cook a lot so to be able to place large pots, casserole dishes and such and be able to lift the top rack to adjust is just amazing. the bottom rack as the adjustable tines that will lay down so you can transform the bottom rack to hold any size item in position to maximize cleaning, and it remains in place, which is again wonderful considering glass items no longer are placed on their side and hold water in them, so when you get to putting it up you have a water line on the glassware. My wine glasses come out beautifully. The touch pad which is hidden when the dishwasher is closed is great as well, plus it notifies you when rinse aid is low, and shows clearly the cycle you are using and what is being brought into play while using this cycle. We love LG, and as the appliances are going in our house we are replacing them all with LG. I do hope this helps.

Typically, I am not one to write a review, but thought it was only fair to future shoppers, as I also rely on other's reviews when making most, but especially a substantial purchase. Not only do I want to educate future shoppers, but just maybe, LG and other manufacturers can learn more about consumers needs and desires and make the "ultimate" product for people with a lower than median income. While looking for a dishwasher, I had certain features in mind such as Reliability & Quality, wanting a third rack,, roomy & flexible rack configurations, a rinse and hold feature, steam and other key features without spending unreasonable amounts of cash. I choose this dishwasher mostly because of the reviews listed, and the "appearance" of rack configurations,. Also, it was significantly reduced due to it being offered as a "Special Buy". I will share with you what I liked about it. I like the way it cleaned dishes, though, it has long cycles which is understandable due to EPA regulations. The dishes were dry for the most part and the third rack seemed efficient, although there was one time I recall that items in this rack were not as clean as I anticipated, but in all fairness, they were knives used to cut into a block of cheese. I did like the removable trays in the 3rd rack as well, but found the third rack "a little dry" when pulling it out and pushing it back in to place. I also like the adjustable tines in the lower rack which helped accommodate odd shaped items. I also wish it had a pause feature, because if you attempt to add an item after the cycle is started, you will get wet opening the door as everything is still turning when the door is open. Now, I will share with you my experiences that made me dislike this product. The times in the lower rack were adjustable as noted but these tines feel flimsy, and I don't see them having much longevity. They also didn't maintain there position when adjusted, and drop down unintentionally when you are placing in dishes etc.. Also, plates and dishes didn't stand up well in these all "straight" tines and often rolled out of position and fell against each other when rolling in the rack. This was biggie for me and drove me nuts. I didn't chip any dishes, but they still should not need to be "repositioned" when closing up the dishwasher. I did like the steam function of this dishwasher, but the side placement seems to inhibit its ability to "hit" all the items in the lower rack. It is great if you have "that one" dish that needs to be steamed cleaned, but if you put a cookie sheet or large pan on the left side, it will block this feature. Would steam be better utilized at the back of the machine? How about up from the bottom? Also, while im talking about the lower rack, this may sound picky but I found the handle on the silverware basket obnoxious, and in the way. One would think it could be made to drop down and recess out of the way so the consumer can add utensils without working around this large handle. The middle rack also offers "an appearance" of flexibility but I found it the most frustrating. The adjustable rack to the left works great to accommodate the nestling of bowls, especially the 6 1/4" cereal bowls we use almost daily. BUT, that's a big BUT, because when you use this space for bowls, they interfere and take up to much room for glasses to the left and right of this space. Any cups such as coffee cups and mugs now hit and interfere with the nice bowl configuration. Forget about putting 16 oz "beer style" glasses or coffee cups on either side unless you don't mind them touching the bowls and gingerly fixing the bowls that "were" nestled so nicely. The wine glass holders/adj. rack are ineffective and were removed within the first week. To use this adjustable shelf for stemware requires you to place them at a 45 degree angle, which takes up much room and cause much wasted space. Speaking of wasting space, these shelves take up too much room even when folded up and out of the way. Out of the way? NOT. And the shelf under this flexible shelf is virtually useless, that is unless you were using green tea cups like most commonly found in Asian restaurants because that is all that would seem to fit on the right. Lastly, when the middle rack is full, there were times I wondered if it was going to drop out of place as it appeared to sag, and needed to be lifted back in place. I wondered if this was due to it not setting in properly after adjusting the height of the rack, but it didn't happen all the time and I didn't adjust the height of this rack often. Lastly, what was LG thinking when they put a non-removable sticker that appears to be a badge/emblem expressing its "10 Year" motor guarantee? Great placard if you are in the store and looking at the display and looking for value added features, but I don't want to see it in my kitchen until the end of this dishwashers days. This didn't make sense to me, and I guess it can be removed, but with great effort that could risk marring the dishwasher's finish. LG, please rethink this badge and make it a sticker. I am sorry LG if this seems like a rant, but I am being honest and reporting in-depth for your sake as well. I hope this review helps you in your decision for your next purchase.

Comments about LG Fully Integrated Built-In Stainless Steel TrueSteam Dishwasher:
The racks on this model are poorly designed and my average size plates do not stay upright. The utensil holder frequently comes apart and does not hold as much as the old one I had. On the plus side, this is the first dishwasher that I've owned that truly is quiet!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We bought this dishwasher 4 months ago and have loved it! It is super quiet, does a great job cleaning, and the cycle time is visible. The only thing we'd suggest for improvement is the drying aid indicator is difficult to assess the level.

There should be a basic start up Instruction to just do the first load, make it simple. Your Instructions tell you everything to select the cycle, but doesn't tell you how to start the cleaning process . Whats bfirst, whats second, and what then

Every prong on the lower and glassware racks is adjustable. I thought that was a fabulous feature - - that I'd be able to customize the racks so that I could load it efficiently - - so that's why I bought this model. Boy was I mistaken... After much experimenting, I load dinner plates across the back. The prongs are vertical and the slots aren't offset from the prongs, so my plates fall over at a 45-degree angle. Since I'm supposed to load plates facing the center, that means that I have to load from both side. Since the plates fall forward, that means I need to leave about six inches of space between the facing rows. After much experimenting, I load salad/sandwich plates and cereal bowls across the front. I have to fold down the center of the front-three rows of prongs. That means the bar that holds the center prongs juts up right where I want the middle of those plates to slot into the space between prongs. Which means that those plates can't be centered between the prongs - - which means that they go sliding around every time I pull out the dishware rack to insert another plate. There is one row - - the far left - - on the glassware rack that works well. The second-from-left is too narrow (the prongs on that row can spread out, but that doesn't help when the space between the bottom of those racks is too narrow). The support bars on the bottom of the glassware rack are too far apart. That means that my glasses often fall over because they don't span three bars (none have been smashed, yet). The wineglass supports seemed like a good idea. However, every other wine-glass notch lines up directly with the bars on the base of the rack, which means that half of those notches can't be used, because the wine glasses can't sit in the slot between the base bars. The silverware rack manages to be simultaneously mama bear and papa bear: The knife supports are oriented for knives to oriented from front to back - - they are too far from the wall, so the knives slide out of their slots every time I open or close the silverware rack. Meanwhile, the fork/spoon slots are oriented side-to-side. My dinner forks (which are not huge!) simply don't fit. On the other hand, this dishwasher is amazingly quiet. I own an LG refrigerator, washer, and dryer. My extremely positive experience with those appliances is a big part of why I chose this dishwasher. Oops!
Hate the Torture of the Blue Flashing Light!
from Hemet, CA
Why in the world would LG put a Very Very Bright Blue Light on the front door and have it flash during operation. I put up with it for two days, then took the door apart and cut out and removed the light. Now I have my sanity back!
Super quiet and great features!

We wanted a dishwasher that was quiet, had the rack and adjustable tines. We really like these features. The third rack holds much more than expected and all those little things that can get lost in a wash cycle. We are constantly moving the tines up and down to accommodate the items we need to wash making it easy to wash thing that are large or shaped funny. We just recommended this dishwasher to my sister.

I installed the Top Control Dishwasher a month ago, and have been pleased beyond compare with the great cleaning this dishwasher performs on our dirty dishes. The top controls are convenient, and enhance the aesthetics of this beautiful appliance. Also, the controls are out of the way, and are not accidentally accidentally pressed, which was a common occurrence with our old unit. We couldn't be happier with our new LG Top Control Dishwasher!
