First I'll say I haven't used each function yet, but I am very impressed overall so far. The person before me states the light level is poor, but I do not agree. The light level is what I need and I have no complaints. I think sometimes kitchens are set up in that there isn't sufficient lighting to begin with. Why would you expect a microwave light to compensate for that? When the microwave is operating it is quiet. I am impressed with the fan, quiet and appears to be strong. I was concerned about the heat coming off my gas range but so far the auto sensor fan has not come on, so now I just wait and see if it does when I have more than two of my large burners on. The interior is sleek and nice to see instead of the standard white. I spent considerable time researching what is out there to replace my GE that died after almost 11 years, and found this one had all the features and style I was looking for.

I use microwave cooking for large batches of vegetables, often in larger sized crock pots with larger volumes of water in order to cover the vegetables and prevent burning on the surface. This microwave takes excessively long to heat the food and water to simmer temperatures (bubbling) at full power and then to complete the cooking maintaining simmer at lower powers. For example for a 6 pound batch of green beans which normally took about 60 minutes normal total cooking time in other microwaves, it took over 110 minutes total cooking time. On average, cooking my larger batches of vegetables was similarly prolonged, about 1.75 to 2 times longer than normal. I suggest that Whirlpool engineers look at their heat dispersal technology, using their special lining of the unit, which I think may be actually lowering the total power of heating of the food. If the microwave is only used to heat or reheat food, or boil a cup of water, the extra time won't be noticed much, but if one wants to fix a batch of rice, cooking for the normal time, it will come out soggy, and will take inordinately long to finish.

The best micro- ever! Solid and simple old fashion construction. So quiet I have to look to see if it's still on. Easy install, I did it with the help of my wife.

We bought this microwave to replace a 20 year old unit. First of all, I couldn't believe how quiet this new unit was. I thought it wasn't working at first. It cooks evenly and the sensor does a great job in determining when food is done. I'm really glad that I chose this model.

Brought this a couple of months ago and I just love it!

The sensors work well and it cleans easily. We have not owned it long but we hope it lasts much longer than the microwave from another brand we are replacing which only lasted 2 years.
Really nice microwave.

Whirlpool quality should be the standard

I bought this one to replace a fifteen year old Whirlpool Gold, because of the exceptional price with the same features and more. I had a minor problem with the door switch that Whirlpool quickly repaired. Always Whirlpool
Nice design and very quiet!

When I came into the kitchen, at the beginning I thought that sound came from the fridge because it was really low but it was the microwave. It's really quite! The design it very modern and clean and the food is heated evenly.

We got the over range microwave about two months ago and are quite disappointed with it. One would think that testing, research, and quality control would have caught and eliminated the fairly obvious problems. We certainly expected better from an old reputable appliance company like Whirlpool. The following are some of the more salient problems: 1. The carousel rotates/rides too high from oven bottom and some dishes tend to slip to one side or the other and the glass carousel itself wobbles and slips off from the center power driving triangle. We have never seen any microwave carousel ride so high. It is over twice the heighth of your average oven. This is a recurring headache. Why they designed it to ride so high and awkwardly is anybody's guess. 2. The volume of the end of cycle beeper is way too low and wimpy and it cannot be raised or lowered. 3. The volume of the exhaust fan is way too loud, even on medium and low settings and cannot be adjusted. The high and medium settings are as loud as some portable generators. We can use it only on the lowest setting and that is loud enough, making the fan all but useless. 4. It has defrost settings for several dishes, but these choices are too limited. For example, it is unclear what setting to use to defrost frozen beans, tamales, etc., as none of those "meat," "poultry," "fish," etc. choices seem to fit. Amazingly, there is no setting for just weight or time to defrost and the "Quick" setting is only for one pound of frozen food. The sole, somewhat minimally-redeeming, qualities of this oven are its good looks and, importantly, the fast heating time.

Bought to replace my 4 year old LG Microwave. I purchase a Whirlpool double door stove 2 years ago and love it! So I decided to buy the Whirlpool and its amazing how much better it is over the LG that cost a lot more!
Good features and works fine.

Installed one week ago and used every day since. Very good size oven with rotating plate. Easy to use programming.
