I'm newly married and in my 40s. Along with a wife I merged 2 step children into my life. Not only did I take on a lot of new responsibility I took on a ton more laundry. With my old washer a dryer we were spending literally 3-4 days every week doing laundry. Washing wasn't a big deal but the drying was taking 2-3 cycles per load. It adds a ton of stress to a new marriage when everyone complaining about needing clothes, or every night having to spend hours getting clothes finished for the next day etc. So I did my research an bought this dryer and the matching washer. These units are amazing and literally saved us days of laundry. Almost everything is totally dry in 1 Normal cycle (the only thing I might add a little additional time too is if a wash a huge load of towels). One thing I didn't think that I would ever use but bought anyway was the Steam option. I really thought it was a gimmick, but what I have found is that it really comes in handy when you throw a load into dry before bed. When you wake up in the morning and run a fast cycle (15mins) and add the steam the stuff comes out fresh and near wrinkle free. Its also great when you just want to freshen up a shirt or something before going out to dinner, I do have 1 minor complaint....This was really not the dryers fault is was user error. But I think a slight design change would cancel out the user error. My issue is with the lint trap. I think my wife or one of the boys started a load without it in and evidently a sock got sucked through and into the motor. Again user error but, if they added a cut off if the lint trap isn't securely in place then things like that wouldn't happen. My last dryer the lint trap was out side the not inside so I never even considered it. Anyway, that's my only complaint. Love this washer and dryer and would totally buy it.

To Whom it May Concern: The reason we purchased the Electrolux washer and dryer is that it came highly recommended (the so called catalac of modern day appliances) by the dealer - Dell's Mountain Electric, Pocatello, Idaho. We were looking for two highly quality washer and dryers that would last us a long time. A little over a year ago we invested almost $3,000 with this in mind. After just 3 months our washing machine tub had to be replaced. Within the last 3-4 months we have also experienced problems with the washing machine. Particularly during the casual cycle, spin dry sequence, it vibrates profusely, shakes, and makes excessive noise. We called Electrolux who was good about immediately assigning us a pre authorization number for repair services. A repair man came, made some telephone calls, made a few adjustments and left. The machine continues to be quite noisy, still vibrates and shakes, but is functional about washing our clothes. When the two machines are working properly we have enjoyed the many nice features including efficient use of water and electricity, a tub cleaning cycle and others. If it were not for the problems we have had with both the washer and dryer, we probably would recommend it to others. All we are looking for is to have these problems resolved, or have the machines replaced!

I purchased this machine on the recommendation of the sales person. Who knew you made something other than vacuum cleaners! So far the only complaint I have is that everything gets rolled up into a tight ball and whatever is inside the ball does not dry and needs additional drying time. This is costly and time consuming. The only way I've discovered to help eliminate the issue is to try and pause it half way through the cycle and shake everything out before continuing. I would recommend the machine but only with a full disclosure of this problem. I do like the many options for drying and think this is probably its best feature.
I am really enjoying this dryer. It holds a lot and I like the different choices for drying. The only thing I have found that I'm a little disappointed in is the lint filter. I feel like it doesn't clean off completely. Otherwise, I am loving this dryer.
Knocked my socks off - without losing them
This dryer was purchased with a new washer to replace a 17.5 year old set purchased when we were married. I've been very impressed with the capacity of this dryer - it holds a lot. I do not dry everything in my dryer - in warm months, I hang things outside and in the colder months, I hang my clothes on 2 drying racks I have inside. My dryer doens't get used hard, but when I do need it to work, it works. I love the large window on the front as well as the light inside. The options on this are fabulous. It is one of the things that most impressed me. It is very easy to use, not many confusing options like some of the other brands I looked at. I can quickly and easily dial in my settings and it is good to go! The second thing that made me purchase a pair from Electrolux was that both doors could be changed to open on the opposite sides (our laundry room arrangement has a sink on the right, the dryer on the left with the washing machine in the middle). This set would have been very hard to use if the doors did not flip. The third thing that made me purchase this set was that it came in a color, other than white, with no additional charge.
I love the color. Getting the bottom drawers is such a back saver and is great for storage. The reason I did not give it 5 stars across the board is because I don't like the way the lint trap was designed. Lint gets trapped in the filter compartment and is very hard to get out. We have to use a shop vac on it and the angle is hard to get to. Also, the knob is getting stiff to move. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Rocky start, great finish
It was a rocky start for this dryer when it was first delivered and installed. It was installed by a reputable authorized retailer and within days of it's arrival it started making a mechanical rattling sound that got progressively louder towards the end of each cycle. After a failed attempt at an initial repair, it was successfully fixed when the drum was realigned properly. It has been working great and noisefree ever since. So after an initial rocky start with noise at the beginning, we have been very pleased with how it works. The santize cycle is great for soiled towels and clothes (ie baby items).
Worth the money
We have three small children and go through laundry like crazy. This machine can wash so much more at one time than our old machine could. It reduces the number of loads we have to run without sacrificing on the quality of the wash. I especially love the Sanitize cycle and the specialty cycles for jeans and stuffed animals. The interior light was a nice surprise for me. I can actually see whether I've removed everything from the drum. This machine lets me customize my cycle settings, and it remembers my selections for next time. I love it.
Great machine! We use all the time! Pleasing to the eye too.
