To start out I was probably one of the worst top-load "HE" washer skeptics out there, how could that little water get my clothes clean but finally after reading review after review and taking trip after trip to research washers and asking everyone about them and only hearing "I heard" as an answer, I settled on this one mainly because of where it was made, the brand and price, I only buy "Made in America" appliances, but I was still very skeptical of its ability. First thing I did was put it thru the mill, I washed everything in my home that first day, regular clothes, my husbands muddy yard wear, bed sheets, curtains, bathroom rugs, my granddaughters blackberry jam stained shirt and even a queen sized comforter. I admit I hovered just waiting for it to mess up and not get my clothes clean or to go out of balance. I never expected it to perform so well but wash after wash they came out smelling fresh and clean and my whites have never been so white. Even the blackberry jam stained shirt which I fully expected to have to throw away, came out clean with the use of a little pretreatment spray. The only problem I had was just getting use to washing clothes differently. I kept my manual out the first couple of days and followed it to the letter. I had gotten into some bad habits with my agitator style washer like not being as picky about separating clothes, just dumping them in the wash, using cold water to wash nearly everything. After making minor adjustments to how I washed clothes Ive noticed my clothes now stay new looking longer, they dont get stretched out in the wash and color clothes are so much brighter and no having to unwad them before i put them in the dryer and I now use less detergent. The only cons I have found is when changing cycles it at times clicks loudly which is at first disconcerting, also when washing with hot water the steam escapes slightly by way of the back of the lid and slightly mists the control panel which is annoying. The other thing is a few small heavy cotton shag bathroom rugs will throw it off balance, but the washer is easy to pause and after rearranging the rugs more evenly the washer does fine.

DO NOT BUY!!! It does not get the clothes clean. There are more spots on the clothes when you take them out ther there were when you put them in. The spot cleaner does not even get washed out. And forget line drying. The wrinkles are so bad you must put them in the dryer. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this washer..

This was the first washer/dryer set I've ever bought. Being a newly married couple I was back and forth on what kind of washer and dryer would be best for us. After doing some research of my own and checking out a few different brands and difference of top and front loaders, I finally decided on this. Best decision I've made. This thing can hold a lot of clothes, and deep clean them. I have never had a problem getting a stain out or anything. And with my husband being in the military, this thing can handle the nastiness that can come with those cammies and long days in the field. I usually use Tide HE washing machine cleaner or the Affresh brand (it has the option for refresh, not like it matters, it all cleans the same) and it's still running perfect. The ONLY thing you have to watch for is making sure when you're washing towels you evenly distribute the weight (since it doesn't have an agitator the weight can get thrown off) and it'll bang up on the side of the machine, which makes a really horrible sound and it's kind of scary, haha. But I love this thing and hope to keep it around for many many more years.
ROUGH ON CLOTHES
from RYE BROOK NY
VERY ROUGH ON CLOTHES. NOT ENOUGH WATER USED HOWEVER THE CLOTHES COME OUT CLEAN AND ALMOST DRY. VERY LONG CYCLES. DOES IT USE ALOT OF ELECTRICITY?
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

MADE MY LIFE A LITTLE EASIER. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!
from Meshoppen, PA
My grandson noticed I had a new washer and asked if I love it. All I could say was OMG, it's SOOOOO awesome!!! One of the best purchases I've ever made. It's not only excellent at washing clothes, it's truly GORGEOUS! I am in love with this washer and will be getting a dryer to match.
More Fetures than needed.

I like things simple so I don't need all the "fancy" features but I like that it gets the job done!
I like the look of the washing machine, but am not thrilled with the performance.
from Saint Joseph, MI
We recently purchased the Maytag Bravos. I like the look and design of these machines. I especially like the see-through lid and no-agitator design. HOWEVER....I think the low-water levels of these HE machines has been a detriment to my laundry. I fill the machine correctly and have followed the directions, but the clothes come out wrinkled, stretched out, and on a few occasions ripped! So much for running a "normal" cycle. I have resorted to using the "bulky" setting for everything in order to force more water into the machine. I would not recommend.
Bad design for smaller loads
from Albuquerque, NM
When doing a small loads, there is not enough water to get the load wet. As a result, cleaning is poor at best. This wears the clothes out faster than wearing them on my person. All low water cycles produce same result. Water levels not enough to get clothes wet. I have to use the max load capacity to get the entire load wet. More water, more power. This is not a savings. Here's a tip for the engineers….if the clothes don't get wet, they can't be washed. I'd trade this for a regular top load Maytag washer any day.
It Is an HE Model - Be Advised
If I had known how noisy and slow HE machines are, I would have searched for an agitator model. For a retired couple, the water/energy saving is not significant.
Mostly good features
from Lincoln, NE
Not convinced the very low water level for washing and rinsing is sufficient to remove the soap from the clothes. Also, the temperature setting especially for a warm wash seems to be off. There's very little difference between warm, and tap cool. I would prefer the old way of adjusting the water temps by adjusting the cold and hot water intake valves versus computerized setting.
features are expected
Bought this model due to allergen feature, this small capacity was not advertised the larger one, took longer to finish.
