I purchased the 60PA5500 to upgrade from an aging rear projection TV, and the image quality is amazing. After researching the different TV technologies out there I had to go with plasma. I also was preferring a "dumb" TV, without any built in apps and internet connected features, since I already have access to all the streaming features I want. I can't stress enough how amazing the picture quality of this set is. Cons: The audio is poor, but it is a flat panel TV, so it is expected. It would be nice to have the different input options available as individual buttons on the remote to quickly jump to an input instead of having to cycle through the attached inputs. It would also be much more convenient to make custom labels for the inputs, like labeling an input as "Roku", instead of the very limited, generic options available. Pros: THE CONTRAST!!! The screen really pops on this TV. The settings are pretty succinct and complete. I really like the Set by Program option for the aspect ratio, so the display automatically switches between 4:3 and 16:9 depending on the what the signal is that is coming in. With three HDMI inputs, two component and one VGA for a PC connection, there are plenty of inputs. Great price! You get a lot of TV for the price.

The tv is GR8, except.....We didn't look to see,we just assumed, the HDMI situation. we got it home, unboxed, set up, & hooked up. we didn't want to return it etc...too much hassle. we noticed...too late...there is only ONE 1 = HDMI. Our other tv had seven. we would be happy w/4? But with onbly one, we have to plug in /connect a dvd or computer back and forth. :(

Died after 3 years and one month

I was happy with it until it died. I shouldn't have to get a new TV after just 3 years. It's out of warranty obviously and isn't worth getting repaired. I have tried all of the help I can find in forums.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I brought this TV a year ago on Thanksgiving. It came with a 1 year warranty for parts & labor and a 2 year warranty on the panel. 2 days after the 1 year warranty expires the TV picture blew out. My suggestion is to make sure you have a extended warranty on it. A store rep stated to us that this product was discontinued because of the problems people was having with it. It has sound but no picture. So before it goes out on you try to get an extended warranty.

Tremendous value for a 60" plasma. The picture is awesome and so are the features except one. It only has one HDMI ports. I had to purchase an HDMI switch, so all is not lost.

Features are Awesome
from Columbus, Ohio
The best environment for watching programs on a plasma TV are in a room with no natural outdoor lighting present and with the seating arrangement in the room positioned directly in front of the screen and not at not at an angle to the TV. I placed this TV in the lower level room of a split level home with no direct natural light. The picture quality is awesome. LG makes a quality plasma TV all folks should look at before deciding which TV to purchase.
Great product for the price

The picture quality is very good and for the price, you won't find a better name brand TV. The only thing I would say is it takes a few seconds after starting to be able to adjust the inputs and volume. Also, the number of inputs is lacking. Luckily I already had an hDMI splitter so it wasn't much of an issue. Overall it is a great TV at a great value.
No audio Out.... :-(
from Richmond, IN, USA
I love everything about this TV except... It has no way to listen to audio on and external speaker system or headphones which is what I need as I live in an apartment and I can't turn it up load enough to hear it without disturbing the neighbors. Really Disappointed that I can't watch TV and have the sound come through some sort of headphones...
