Onkyo has once again brought out a product with the intention of retaining its top position in the AV receiver market. The Onkyo 9.2 Channel Black Network AV Receiver – TXNR5010 is the flagship receiver in Onkyo's line of AV receivers. Along with certification for THX Ultra2+, a list of specifications that look like a glossary for home cinema, and an incredible 220 Watts per channel, this product will excite any audio enthusiast.
This audio receiver is fashioned in a tasteful manner with clean straight lines. At 29 kg and 337 mm height it will require a premium space in your cabinet or cinema room. The panels are made of thick aluminum, and with holes on top, that provide ventilation and a tempting glimpse of the electronics, it adds industrial solidity to the Onkyo – TXNR5010. The clutter-free front panel hides all it’s buttons under a large flap. The back panel offers almost any type of connection you need. It has HDMI input or output, component video, composite video, PC input, USB ports, Ethernet, and many more sockets. For audio, it provides 7 sets of stereo analogue inputs, 6 inputs for digital audio, 11.4 channel pre-outs, and two sets of phono out sockets.
The Onkyo – TXNR5010 is completely crammed with features. One of the main features is the nine-channel home theatre which offers Dolby, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, Audyssey DSX, and DTS Neo:X processing. Another important feature is the range of internet radio and music streaming services like Spotify, vTuner, Last.fm, Simfy, MP3tunes, and AUPEO. DLNA support allows you to stream music from media servers in almost any format. Two of the premium and exclusive features are the DTS Neo:X support for upmixing from 11.4 pre-outs, and the SimpleTap from Cisco Linksys router connecting technology.
A terrific onscreen GUI, aggressive and powerful movie performance, smooth high and mid frequencies, an ability to enhance even the smallest details, and an agility while handling music means it's impossible to find any errors in its performance.
