Amana 1.6 Cu Ft Stainless Steel Countertop Microwave - AMC2166AS

I bought a medium GE, but returned it because it shut off prematurely and smelled funny. Instead of just replacing it, I figured I'd try an Amana for a change of pace (I'm a big GE microwave fan). Bad move. In comparison to all the GEs, it's very loud. The touchpad sometimes gives a double number, but also is sometimes hard to push to get one.

I also prefer the push-button door (GE) to the pull handle (Amana). Finally, I suspect there's a bit of a hot spot in the center.

Excellent as always. Had an issue with a microwave and they took care of it promptly and easily. Abt is a winner.

Replaced a broken microwave with a Panasonic, which had a push-button door and couldn't even cook popcorn. So, tossed that one and bought this Amana. Amazing. Love it. Door opens with a handle. Popcorn, for the first time, cooks with hardly a kernel uncooked. One small con: in order to cook something at less than high, you have to push "cook time", punch in the time and THEN say what temp you want. Otherwise, great product. Best microwave I've ever had.

Microwave works as should be expected from a microwave. I disagree with other reviewers who stated the product is noisy and and that display is difficult to see.

Of note, original microwave arrived with damaged packaging probably by shipper (It can happen) and microwave had a sllight dent on side near the control panel. Upon my inquiry to ABT about what to do, ABT immediately sent a replacement and then arranged for pick up of damaged item. This is great customer service.
