The new iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot provides a superior level of cleaning with less work for you. With AeroVac™ Technology and a new brush design, Roomba 650 is better equipped to handle fibers like hair, pet fur, lint and carpet fuzz. Roomba 650 also comes with on-board scheduling which allows you to preset up to seven times per week for Roomba to clean when it's most convenient for you.

Features:

  • Thoroughly vacuums all floor types
Roomba vacuums dirt, dust, hair and debris from your carpets, hardwood, tile and laminate floors, automatically adjusting to different floor surfaces as it moves through your home. Now featuring AeroVac Technology, Roomba 650 is better equipped to handle fibers like hair, pet fur, lint and carpet fuzz. Roomba 650 vacuums your floors using
    • Patented, Three-Stage Cleaning System
A spinning side brush cleans along wall edges as counter-rotating brushes pick up dirt, dust, debris and pet hair from the floor. An efficient vacuum pulls dirt and hair off of Roomba's brushes and into the bin
    • AeroVac Technology
Optimized airflow pulls hair off Roomba's brushes and guides it to the back of the AeroVac bin, allowing it to fill more evenly and requiring you to empty it less often. This bin also holds more debris than previous Roomba generations
    • Improved Brush Design
An improved brush design and optimized airflow means more hair is pulled off Roomba's brushes and into the AeroVac bin. Less hair on the brushes means Roomba can clean for longer and provide a more thorough cleaning
  • Cleans every section of your floor multiple times
With iAdapt® Responsive Cleaning Technology, iRobot's advanced system of software and sensors, Roomba chooses from dozens of robotic behaviors more than 60 times per second. This allows Roomba to clean more of your room, more thoroughly, making multiple passes over every section of floor. Roomba effortlessly gets under and around furniture and along wall edges, going under bed skirts and curtains, avoiding stairs, following walls and navigating through loose wires. Roomba 630 also adapts to your home using
    • Dirt Detect
Roomba uses an acoustic sensor to find dirtier areas and then spends more time cleaning them
  • Keeps your house clean at the push of a button
Designed with your convenience in mind, Roomba 630 starts working for you at the push of the CLEAN button. The new AeroVac bin, with improved space utilization fills more evenly, allowing you to empty it less often. Roomba returns to its Home Base® to dock and recharge between cleanings. Roomba 630 makes vacuuming even more convenient with
    • On-Board Scheduling
Preset up to seven times per week for Roomba to clean when it's most convenient for you
    • Virtual Wall® Technology
The included Virtual Wall emits an infrared beam that Roomba will not cross, keeping it in the rooms you want to clean and out of the ones you don't

I have my irobot to run at 4am every day downstairs. I never hear it because our bedroom is upstairs and we are asleep. All I do is wake up in the morning and empty out the canister. It does get stuck some times so i do have to move it and let it finish running. But that does'nt bother me it saves me time to do other things around the house. I love it. It was worth the money. Im thinking about buying one for upstairs now. I recommend the pet series to anyone with pets and or with children. (((The canister is full of dog hair, dirt, dust ect. ect. every morning when i empty it))) I cant believe how much it picks up everyday. I would never have time to vacuum everyday its amazing how dirty a home can get in just one day with dogs and children.

I like my roomba but there are things you NEED to KNOW before you buy.

1. One thing that is EASY TO FORGET is that YOU have to first pick up EVERYTHING off your floor before you start the vacuum. It Will get stuck on anything that is on the ground so for a mother of 3 kids, this means picking up all the legos because they will disappear in the vacuum. It gets stuck on blankets, cheap rugs that are flimsy and phone charger cords and lamp wires. It also gets stuck behind bedroom doors and it will shut the door itself and get "trapped" in the bedroom.

2. Its fairly loud. So loud that I don't dare put it on when my husband is home. The loud noise bothers him (not me so much) so we try our best to turn it on when we leave the house. Basically, there is no way you can let it run and watch tv at the same time. Sounds similar to a hair dryer running.

3. Best use in my opinion. Picking up dog hair. That is the main reason I bought it and it works amazing for that. A huge help for me.

4. Not so great for…carpet or rugs. It doesn't have the suction power to get your carpet clean like a regular vacuum can.

Comments about iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot:

Like all Roombas, they do clean effectively, sometimes better than most uprights (but Kirby). If you are expecting a mapping system like that of Neato, you won't get it. It makes its way around by bumping into things. However, many people make it sound like it slams into your furniture, they're full of it. It softly taps and turns. The beater brush (the rubber one) does have a knack for getting out dust, but after usually a month, it starts to tear up. Both brushes do need cleaned every so often because of hair. Either yours, or your pets. It does clean up a lot actually. One of the tests I run on all of my vacs, Kirby, Dyson, everything, is vacuuming up 50g of sugar and steel BBs. After 2 passes, most of it was cleaned up, with the exception of 5 BBs. It's also durable. My Roombas have sucked up bolts and screws and a bunch of other junk. The sweeper arm on the left side is perfect for edges, which is good because the brushes are exactly 96mm away from the wall. Sometimes I'll vacuum with my Dyson and I let my Roomba run after I vacuum just to see what I missed. (Dyson is a piece of junk anyway. A Kirby paired with a Roomba is unstoppable.) My only gripes are 1: it's not too good looking, especially with the yellow ring. And 2: It will not clean anything with a clearance of less than 3.6 inches. In other words, you need to raise your furniture and chairs. One more thing. Electric cords. It doesn't like them. Pick them up. All in all, the 650 is a great vacuum, but it won't replace an upright like a Kirby.

Comments about iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot:

My son bought me Dirk 3 years ago as a Christmas gift.

I have a first floor which is a small kitchen/Living room/dining room and sunroom. This unit keeps the entire floor shining. I have both a cat and dog that sheds.

I have programmed it to run every morning. It goes off like clockwork and redocks and recharges.

I never take my regular vacuum out except for occasional baseboard heater and corner dusting.

I have spent thousands on every kind of vacuum cleaner and never thought this unit little unit would ever last or clean effectively. I was wrong.

I've had to buy replacement parts but the parts cost has been much less then the multitude of vacuums I have bought.

This unit saves me so much time and work and my floors always look beautiful.

My hardwood floors (high gloss finish) , I would swear the rubber beater polishes it or something, I haven't washed them in years and you would never know.

On weekends I bring Dirk upstairs to clean the bedroom floors and everything sparkles including under the bed.

I do pick up rugs with fringes on the edges are Dirk will shred these off. I also try to keep wires lifted off the floor when he runs as he does sometimes gets tangled if there is slack in the wires.

One other con is the noise can be a bit annoying when he runs over an hour and a half, but really, it is worth it.

Comments about iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot:

Purchased Roomba 650 when my husband, who normally does the vacuuming, had shoulder surgery. Overall, Roomba was worth the money for sure, but I was surprised (disappointed) about several things:
1. the effort required to clean Roomba after she has done her job is nothing like they show in the video. We have two papillons and they don't shed a lot but their hair is long and I have to cut it to pull it off the brushes. Ultrafine dust gets past the filter and collects on the fan, which cannot be cleaned. I assume this dust will eventually contribute to --or cause-- failure. 2. We had tile floors with nice wool area rugs. Roomba cleaned both but left a line of dirt at the perimeter of every rug which I had to come around and sweep. 2. We now have carpet throughout (1900 sq ft minus large kitchen and bathrooms) and she does okay with that but I have to empty her multiple times and recharge her partway through her job. Thus vacuuming takes the better part of a day. I can be doing other things, but need to be here to make sure there is no interaction with the pets, or getting stuck somewhere. The noise can get tiresome after that much time.

The only issue I had with the unit was that it disappeared one day and it took us a day to find
it. It had got itself jammed up under our bed and
I had to crawl up under top get it point it toward the base unit to recharge. I bought another
docking unit, I wish you had told me that I needed another power supply to make it work. $39.95 times two makes the idea kind of pricey...

Comments about iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot:

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and a large open floor plan with wooden floors on the main level. The thing I love most about the Roomba is that I can turn it on, let it do its thing, and work on something else. It saves me a lot of time. It is effective in picking up most of the pet hair and debris, but it does miss some spots. I don't think it is the best idea to have it as your only vacuum. I have hose vacuum that I use occasionally as well. It works best in smaller rooms, so I section off my open floor plan. I move the little things out of its way and let it do one section as a time, then move it to another section. I bought an additional laser thing (they call it a virtual wall) to keep it out of an area (one came with it so now I have two). I usually have to empty the bin once in the middle of cleaning a room, but that says to me that I should be doing it more often. It's not a fault of the Roomba. The only major issue I had was that it fell down the stairs the first time I used it. It has a sensor that is supposed to keep it from doing that, but apparently if failed. I did not break when it fell down 8 hardwood stairs! Now I just keep it away from the stairs with some sort of little barrier. It is very easy to clean. The parts that can be removed are coded yellow so you know exactly what you can do to clean the brushes, wheels and bin. Sometimes I'm surprised at how "stupid" it can be. It can take several (30 maybe) for it to figure out how to get out of a tight spot, but it almost always figures it out, so I just don't watch. Maybe the higher end ones are "smarter" but this one works great for us. Even my husband will fire up the Roomba when the floors get bad. ;)

Comments about iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot:

I love the concept of the robotic vacuum, but it was not effective picking up dog hair from the carpet; even after multiple tries. I had to follow-up and remove hair after the vacuuming was complete. It was like this from the start and I did keep the bin and brushes clean. It had no problem cleaning the floors. I am going to try the 880 vacumm to see if it can adequately clean my carpets.
