I am still getting used to this d/w. The angled tines limit some of the loading options for the lower rack. Recently the bottom rack came off the rail as I was it pulling out. It was easy to reposition back on the rollers, but I was startled when it happened. The bottom rack is much lower in this appliance which is good for cleaning platters and large plates, but it did create some minor difficulties with installation related to preexisting pipes in the floor. The cleaning cycle seems long, but the dishes come out sparkling and it's so quiet that I can definitely live with the trade off. Initially, I thought the individual slots for silverware were unnecessary, but I appreciate the advantages of this design having used it. I do a load of dishes/pans 2-3 X a week because I live alone but I enjoy cooking. This d/w suits me well. I would recommend this product, but if you aren't sure, compare it with other d/w's in the same category.

This is not a good GE product. The cycle is over 2 hours and then items are not dry, silverware basket is very wet and the soap dispenser doesn't always open and you have to re-wash. The material of the rack is so slippery that glasses tip over. The design is not flexible to allow for various shaped bowls. Water is left in the bin and most items need to be dried after the cycle is finished.

Comments about GE 24" Stainless Steel Built-In Dishwasher:
I've had this a little over 5 week now and it cleans great, i don't see how it wouldn't clean good since wash cycles are really long, about 2 hrs i believe. No problem though since its quiet. I installed it myself, my first dishwasher installation, i am the handy (wo)man here and have to say instructions were vague. I didnt know you have to get a power cord, so i used my old washers cord (only 10 years old), i did have to purchase an elbow fitting for the water supply. I am super happy especially for having an upper rack rinse arm which my old one did not. Has a lot of space for a lot of dishes. I slso love the beeping jingle lol when cycle is done ;) I love all the features steam, saitize, auto sense wash etc!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The drying feature isn't great.
from Garland, TX
The dishwasher cleans extremely well so far. The drying feature is not as good. There is moisture in the bottom, sides and door when cycle completed which prevents silverware and some other items from drying completely. The items on the top rack were dry, however. There was a little water leaking from the machine at the bottom when it first started. I leave the door open after operating to help it dry so that there will not be any mold or bad smells as I don't use it daily.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
The dishwasher is very quiet

Nice looking dishwasher, affordable. I've only used it once, but extremely quiet and very easy to use.
Love this so far.

Just purchased this product but so far very happy with it. Installation was relatively easy. Love the features especially the steam cycle for drying. This is the most quiet dishwasher I have ever had. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and already have.

Front of washer is light weight plastic and afraid to move around after connected. Needed the side trim pieces which did not come with the basic washer, and had to order them. The 2 mounting brackets are too flimsy and had to find / make 2 stronger on my own. Washer runs very quiet and operates with no flaws or failures so far. Water system and pumps operates without flaws or problems. Very good machine but seems like too much light weight plastic after replacing Older GE dishwasher purchased in 1987 that was infallible.
Good machine for the price.

I have had problems with silverware holder interfering with the soap dispenser washout.

When we started the unit the first time I thought it was not running. It is so quiet. It looks great.
A little loud
from Sanger, CA, United States
Installed and ran the unit a few times and overall I am very happy with it. It is a little louder than I thought it would be and the lower rack seems smaller than my old unit. All in all it's a good dishwasher. I had originally wanted a much higher end product but due to having tile under my counters I needed a unit that was adjustable down to 33.5" and this fit the bill.

I would have given a five star however. the inside is dark gray and hard to see what and where things are. The dark gray is probably not a good idea.
