This product was suggested to me by two different people. Because I love a good tasting cup of coffee I started my search for the product and found Abt. The free shipping and the cheaper price made me hesitate because I thought it was too good to be true but I took a chance and am very pleased with the results. I haven't had it too long so don't know about its long-term endurance.

I use this to grind espresso everyday. The grinder allows very precise control on the fineness of the grind.

I wanted to improve the taste of my coffee I brew at home. I have read on various coffee aficionado sites that simply using freshly ground coffee does wonders. The Bodum Bistro grinder is a great entry level conical burr grinder. I have read that it can be inconsistent at times with ground uniformity, but so far after a month of usage I have not seen that to be the case. I only drink drip coffee, so I can't attest to how well it grinds for espresso or french press.

The only negative I have found with the machine is that you must tilt and lightly slap the back of the machine to get the remaining grounds out, which I believe happens with most grinders.

Whether I'm grinding coffee for the drip coffee maker Bonavita BV1800 or the Chemex pour over coffee maker or a French press, the Bodum grinds the coffee correctly, and consistently. Compared to other burr grinders, the Bodum is relatively quiet and cleans easily. I use a Dyson vacuum to suck up any residual coffee trapped in the chute.

Service and delivery comments:

Very fast execution of the order and delivery. However, I made the purchase using my Capital One credit card because it was running this promotion: Buy minimum $100 from Abt before 1/23/13 online only and receive a $15 credit on my statement within 10 business days. It's been over 20 days and I still don't have the credit and Capital One is checking into it and it will take 7-10 business days before I hear from them as to who's responsible for this error, Capital One or Abt.
This part of the transaction has not made me happy since the whole idea of these offers is to save the customer money without the hassles of coupons, codes or rebates. It should not be taking this much time to solve this issue.

This grinder replaces a five year old Cuisinart that could not grind fine enough for espresso or moka. The burrs were also worn down to being rounded and smooth. The finest grind for the Bodum is not quite fine enough for turkish but very satisfactory for espresso and moka. I have also used it at slightly coarser than drip for siphon brewing. It has worked perfectly so far for both applications. I have not used it yet for french press. I measure my beans into the hopper for each use and with the timer dial set to max I just hit the start button then hit it again once grinding completes. For what I have used it for so far the grind has been very uniform and I very much like the anti static properties of the glass ground coffee container. It also grinds quickly and is not as loud as the Cuisinart. Once you find your sweet spots for your different brewing techniques this grinder will deliver everything you ask of it.
